Just picked up this drama after watching JOL. I was wondering why the FL looks so familiar, and it turned out to be the one and only Cecilia Liu!!! Love her since Scarlet Heart!
I'm currently on episode 14 and this is what I've gathered so far: 1. Chaos should be FX's middle name 2. LDD was born to play Li Cheng Ze (2nd prince). His body language, facial expression and message delivery adds so much life to the character. It's such a joy to see him on screen! 3. Guo Bao Khan + Fan Sizhe = Ancient verison of dumb & dumber 4. Haitang Duo is still the best girl 👏

I also adore the last case (mainly cause of the children) but I felt like the ending of the case was poorly executed. I understand why Li Chi was the murderer but his intention didn't seem that shocking? It felt cliche and too predictable. Rather, if they had ended the case with Mr. Cao or Third Sis as the murderer, then that would have been shocking
So now that s2 is finished, which case was everyone's favorite?

While Su wuming and Yingtao's romance is oddly paired, I can understand why YT is in awe of SWM. Her love for him is out of admiration and gratefulness. Based on their story in s1, SWM helped her and consoled her. She felt a sense of comfort in him. I'm not sure about SWM tho. Is her love for him reciprocated? It feels like hes just going along with her feelings. I do wish the scriptwriter developed their relationship better, but overall, it's not a terrible flaw in the drama.
The entire team of this drama needs an award. from actors, actresses, director, producer, costume designer, music, location, camera, etc. all need an award

I agree with you. While I was glad to see the reunion of Xiashu and his [lookalike] wife from s1, I was hoping to see a stronger character development in Xiashu in s2. Instead, he acted like his ditsy, drugged up self in s1. I feel like the director should've developed Xiashu's character more in s2, now that he's a magistrate and won first place on the exam.
