I absolutely loved the first episode! The only reason I decided to watch this drama was because of the actors.…
It actually gets uploaded speedily, like within a few hours after airing. You can watch the raw here, for example: http://www.miomio.tv/watch/cc243343/
Subs might take forever though...
I also enjoyed the first ep. Very funny, though they better do something about Yamapi's character's excessive stalking soon.
So, we start with 8-9 year old Bong Sam and 10 years later he's Jang Hyuk? Aged quite a lot in 10 years, didn't…
Ah that's good! Bong Sam's behavior was totally annoying me because while it's easy to forgive a teen being like that, Jang Hyuk is too old to overlook it. If they were planning on a time skip one ep later, they should've maybe gotten another set of childactors for the interim. It's a relief it's so soon, anyway!
First ep looks promising. It's funny, witty and Hiro is relatable, even if you're much younger than her. This show also certainly has my interest for broaching the topic of same gender relationships.
They should really stop writing out her thoughts though - the voiceover is totally sufficient and continuity suffers from those blackscreens.
Welcome to a highspeed race through histroy. Although I appreciated the speedy pace at first, the latter half of the show is just a renarration of historical facts without giving proper due to any single event or even adding twists. All the ploys are laughably simple and there are no surprises, but the show keeps pretending to be smart and feels the need to explain the details though the many exposition fairys all the time. It's kinda amazing how they managed to make these events boring. Gwanghae and Injo are the only interesting characters (and the only ones who are gray instead of black and white) and the first half is good, but this should have never been 50 eps and sadly, the latter half kills any love I had for the show in the beginning.
I don't think the way he acts is okay at all and he's deeply flawed, but I wouldn't call him a bad person all the way. It's not like he's treating her that way because he enjoys her suffering and I can actually understand why he'd want to divorce the meek NoRa (not realizing he's the cause for that version of her). He's egoistic and selfish and has made a bunch of mistakes, but that are very human flaws.
What I meant with "no bad people" is that there's no mean chaebol chairman acting only out of greed without any sign of consciousness. Or another type o cookie-cutter villian.
It's really good so far. Nice message, feel-good and hilarious, no actually bad people, just people with flaws, especially likeable and relatable heroine, characters grow in a really satisfying way... just to mention a few things I like about this show ;)
So yeah, I think it's worth a try!
I love it so far but pleaaase!! do something about the hair and them cheeks!! I know its intentional but... but..
I actually hope she doesn't get a makeover. She'll probably get one down the road, but I don't want her problems solved by simply prettifying her - that's not satisfying. I just hope Ha Ri is the one to do it, not one of the guys.
The cute chemistry is what really saves this, but the whole plot is so overused and predictable step by step,…
Yes, I agree, but I thought this had especially many cliches. Usually you can't predict this much, even if you know the overall pattern. I just wish they had added a little something more, but I still enjoyed it =)
The cute chemistry is what really saves this, but the whole plot is so overused and predictable step by step, even down to the side characters, it's not even funny.
The plot seems to be reaaally complicated, isn't it?
It's actually quite difficult, because somehow many characters end up as stand in for an idea, even in great shows, or they are very far from actual history.
You might enjoy Cruel Palace. All of the characters are human and understandable, even if you despise some of them. The show is about intigues and politics but manages to maintain quite some tension throughout all of its 50 eps without ever dragging.
My Sageuk knowledge is mostly limited to Fusion Sageuks and I've yet to watch the older masterpieces, but judging from what I've read about them Jewel in the Palace or Queen Seon Duk might fit what you're looking for.
I totally don't mind that our main characters kinda got relegated to supporting ones if the screentime is taken up by Baek Sung Hyun and Lee Min Ho *___*
Joo Won and Jeong Myeong are pretty boring anyway because they're so predictably one-track. The Injo/Sohyeon dynamic is much more interesting.
Subs might take forever though...
