well i said it was rushed because many of the things that happened could've been done before but they rushed it all in one episode .. like jang hyun's memories and who his father is.. like ryang eum finally accepting her and him like so many scenes have been wasted in some episodes when they could've already done it before in previous episodes .. they also wasted time on scenes with the princess that were tbh unnecessary ... idk i love this drama regardless and i don't hate what they're doing but it could've been a bit better but either way i'm giving it a 10 because not many dramas manage to make me feel this way or make me this attached .. and it truly is a masterpiece .... honestly i think gil chae is def dying like idk it feels like all odds are against her but there's a chance maybe jang hyun will survive and live in hiding

Agreed . I also appreciated the portrayal of so hyun to be honest … such a tragic prince .. they made it seem like illness here tho so they don’t have to dive too deep into his death and the execution for his wife

They could’ve done all the wanted to do in this eps in previous episodes …. And I think now everything is sorta being rushed and here’s how it might go down the dagger gil chae buried will get her killed easily .. everyone wants jang hyun dead and the princess will kill him if he doesn't go with her .. i have a feeling she will save him and take him with her and he'll spend the rest of his life there maybe .. if he doesn't die of course ,.. now as for gil chae it's either she's imprisoned or killed idk .. ryang eum also the man in the prison or dead .. like yes because they wasted time on some stuff

lol samee no i watched it because i grew more curious about crown prince so hyun and read about his story .. i was surprised to see her as well hahhahaha i thought it was my dearest affect at first but then it actually turned out to be her

yeah yea i know it's what led to his haterd and eventually his poisoning according to real history but i feel like it would be to much to get into ... he also went and fought in the war in beijing were the ming were defeated but they also can't show all of this considering he is a support role and not the main focus . they mostly focused more on his interactions with the people and the captives
i would love to see a drama focusing on him tho but since this drama wasn't about him i'm fine with it

yea i read about him as well and he is known to be a weak unstable king .. of course he'd feel uneasy and think of treason and scared of the his throne stolen since that's exactly how he got his throne .. he stole it from his uncle in a coup . he himself commited treason ... if you watch the night owl it's a great memoir for prince so hyun's death .. excellent historical movie .. i watched last night and after watching i just knew what will happen in this drama soon

some are saying they didn't like the ending but i have to say i loved it ... it had to be this way because they did stick to real history i understand heavily why they didn't behead him after all, you can understand that already from the scene in which kyung so says it out loud, the truth everyone was suspecting and then the king orders them to kill him and they all just stand there stunned and speechless not following order .. we know very well that they lost respect for their king .. and were always skeptical of him ( after all he was rumored to be a weak unstable ruler ) .. they spent their lives in the palace pretending they didn't see and in this scene, it felt like they all saw briefly before they went back to forgetting and that's why the physican (the owl ) was spared .. they didn't think he was guilty of no crime, that's why they didn't kill him and for the first time they didn't follow the orders .. it just felt wrong for them to kill him as well ...
i thought it was a beautiful choice and it sunk deep since these guards always, and i repeat always follow orders, hold their king in high regards and pretend to not see and this was the first time they saw . and all they could do is spare him ... i bet they felt like they'd have no shame and they'd feel guilty about killing the only man though weak but brave who dared to tell the truth loudly while they all stood there and swallowed their tongues ...
