I've binged the first 27 episodes of this drama (Part 1) and have enjoyed it. It's not without its flaws, but overall it is an enjoyable drama. I really do like Zhao Lu Si's character, and I appreciate her acting style. It's subtle when it needs to be, and over-the-top when it needs to be. She can also be quite funny. I'm looking forward to seeing how her character grows in Part 2. This will probably get me some hate, but I just find Leo Wu's acting to be very average. He seems to always have the same facial expression in every single scene. He'd probably be really good at poker. But he's extremely popular, so he's obviously doing something right. Lastly, I'm going to express my disappointment that yet another Chinese drama tries to romanticise a non-consensual kiss by a man on a woman. My score is 8.5/10.
I think this drama started off much better than it finished. Personally I found the ending to be messy and a bit…
It barely warrents the LGBTQ+ tag in my view, because the nothing "gay" happened, except Woo Seul Gi dreamt that she was in the bath with Yoo Je I and they kissed. Other than that, they just seemed like friends. If anyone is watching this hoping it is going to be a lesbian romance drama, they will be very disappointed. I suspect that dream scene only existed so it could beput in the trailer.
I think this drama started off much better than it finished. Personally I found the ending to be messy and a bit confusing. For me, it just ended up an as "average" drama. 7.5/10
ive watched too many gls that im forgetting one thing does anyone remember on which series The ML licked{may be…
In "Blank" season 2, Nueng bites Anueng's neck and back while they are having sex. Anueng asks her to do this btw. Also, in "Gap" they bite each other on the lips and nose when they kiss - so its probably one of these two.
that was not the point… he’s meant to be an overbearing father and this is like extremely lukewarm levels…
Nope - you are simply wrong. You obviously struggled with middle school science as well. While it is true that in cold weather, people can be more susceptible to respiratory viruses, it is the air temperature that a person inhales that matters, not whether water is falling from the sky. That is ONE of the reasons why colds and flus are more common in winter. But having rain contact your skin itself does NOT increase your risk of developing a viral infection. Dumbass.
I thought this was an enjoyable series for the most part, but not the strong production expected of great K-Drama.…
Based on the currently MLD score of 9.4, thousands of KDrama fans (myself included) disagree with you. In my opinion, the writing, direction, production and acting were simply sublime. It is a masterpiece, and this will be reflected in the awards it wins.
So ... Yoo Je I's father, who is a medical doctor, thinks that if someone gets wet, they may catch a cold and develop a fever. This tells me that the writer/director of this drama failed middle school science. There are these things called viruses ...
I'm only 4 episodes in and I'm enjoying this a lot. But I'll say that Shao Shang's grandmother is the most insufferable whiney character I think I've ever seen in a drama. She makes me want to rip my ears off every time she throws one of her tantrums. EDIT: After finishing the 27 episodes of Part 1, my opinion of her hasn't changed. She is a selfish, insufferable, entitled pig.
I'll start by saying that IU's acting in this dramas was sublime, and the last episode was the best final episode of any drama I've ever seen. This drama is not an easy watch, and it is quite sad and even frustrating at times. However, it just drips with quality. Its a drama I could never binge (too emotionally draining), and I'll probably never rewatch it, BUT I'm so pleased I've seen this masterpiece. It's just so poignant and you'll be thinking about this drama (and your life) long after you've finished the final episode. This was the 211th full length Asian drama I've watched, and only the third I've scored a perfect 10/10.
... that both main leads die in the end? Is that right? My heart can't take sad endings, so I'm afraid to watch…
There are definitely several very sad moments in this drama, but it is a seriously good drama. It's not the easiest drama to watch, and I could never binge it, but I'm so glad I watched it. I being quite serious when I say you'll be missing out on something special if you avoid it. There is a reason this drama has a score of (currently) 9.4 here on MDL.
I really enjoyed this drama a lot. The story was very fast paced (perhaps slightly too fast sometimes), which meant it never felt draggy to me. This is unusual for a drama with this many episodes. I often comment that a drama would have been better with less episodes, but not with this drama. The story was quite epic and was well told, although Hua Zhi's ninja-level horse charge of those assassins was a bit much. The cinematography was very good, although some of the CGI was not perfect. The costumes were excellent, and I especially appreciated the gorgeous hairpins and other jewellery the noble women were wearing. Overall, very entertaining with VERY few boring bits, and plenty of inspirational and emotional scenes. 9.5/10
That shouty episode really annoyed me a lot. I too was starting to find the drama a little bit of a chore around…
WLGYT is quite similar to My Mister in that regard. There is a lot of struggle, sadness and suffering in WLGYT, but there is some hope and happiness mixed in with it. Whereas My Mister had a happy ending (although not as happy as many fans had hoped for), from what I understand, WLGYT has a more bitter-sweet ending. But I'm yet to watch the last 4 episodes, so don't take my comment as gospel truth.
Does it get better? Just finished episode 8 and its been underwelming - borderline boring. With a 9.4 I was expecting…
That shouty episode really annoyed me a lot. I too was starting to find the drama a little bit of a chore around about then, but the last two episodes I've watched (11 & 12) were excellent. And from what I understand, the last four episodes are the best of the drama. But, if its not doing it for you, then just drop it for now - you can always come back to it in the future if you want. I dropped "My Mister" the first time I tried to watch it, and when I finally watched it a year later, I loved it so much I scored it my first ever 10 here on MDL.
As a Thai GL fan, I found this drama generally enjoyable, but it did have a lot of deficiencies (which others…
1.) I really hate unearned redemptions in dramas. A well written redemption arc can be one of the most emotionally satisfying experiences in a drama. But when someone who has been consistently evil, suddenly and magically becomes good, and is then instantly accepted and forgiven, I find it unsatisfying to put it mildly. Kliaokhluen's father is an arrogant, self-righteous, sociopathic, homophobic bully ... and then for no apparent reason, suddenly transforms into father of the year. SIGH! 2.) Who the fuck would invite the person who literally attempted to murder them to their wedding. That is seriously messed up. SIGH and FACEPALM!
So ...
