Half way through this drama, I was thinking this drama is excellent. How could it possibly only have a MDL score of 7.9? I was expecting to score it at a 9.0 when I finished it. But then the ending happened ... see Spolier
I have no idea why but, I’m shipping Qin Shi and Tao Junhui. I feel he still can’t get over her 🙆🏼♀️and…
A genuinely nice guy who physically dragged her against her will into the men's toilet, and then on another occassion tried to force himself on her. I think you are I have different understandings of the phrase "genuinely nice". In my opinion, he's a piece of shit.
I'm glad 2ml, fl relationship paused on a good note. In future they may reconnect again, if her relationship with…
Are you kidding me? One of the first times we saw him on screen, the 2ML grabbed the FL and physically dragged her into the men's toilets. ANY man who drags ANY women against her will into a men's toilet for ANY reason is a piece of shit. The 2ML also stalked the FL and secretly investigated her boyfriend. He also lied to and used his fiancée to further his career. If you think he is a good option for the FL after what he did, then I'm going to have to question your judgement. And now in episode 36, he's trying to force himself on her. Yep - he's a quality human being.
I'm nearly half way through this drama, and I'm really enjoying it. I just want to say that if this drama is accurate in showing how a "family registry" is needed before someone can get married in China, then that is extremely fucked up. The idea that one disgruntled parent (or anyone really) can simply take and hide the family registry, and this prevents family members from getting married is just so manifestly wrong and cruel. That system just screams to be abused, and is insulting and demeaning to the family members it hurts. Some aspects of Asian culture I will just never understand.
although the opening part might give discomfort to some watcher (as it can be viewed as SA) 1st EP is still okay.…
I've read most of her books, and her stories are really interesting, with unexpected twists and themes that break taboos. But the reason why production companies choose her works is because she is popular.
idk what's wrong with these GLs why everyone using jealousy plot can't they put FL loves 1 person since start…
Most, and probably all Thai GLs are based on novels. The scriptwriters generally follow the original material quite closely. And as every novelist understands, conflict always drives the narrative. You would find a conflict free drama incredibly boring.
This drama was OK, but it was just too long. Too much filler, too many flashbacks, too many wayyyyy toooooo loooong in-game battles. As a 20 episode drama, I think this could have been much better. 7.5/10.
I really wish you people would stop spamming links to that illegal website. You all obviously work for (or are subcontracted by) that company, as there is a coordinated effort to spam that website all over MDL.
This drama is really good - one of the best KDramas I've seen this year. The acting was really good from the entire cast, but Park Bo Young's acting in particular was exceptional. The cinematography was excellent and the CGI was very impressive. Clearly there was some serious money spent making this drama (Thank you Netflix). I'm giving this drama 9/10.
And now I'm going to have a whinge about something in the drama that annoyed me. At one point before they were together, Hwang Yeo Hwan grabbed Min Deul Re and non-consensually kissed her on the mouth. I really wish scriptwriters would realise that in the year 2024, consent is important. If they are writing a character who is intended to be a decent human being, then that character shouldn't be engaging in non-concensual sexual touching of any sort. At the very least, it paints the character as selfish and disrespectful to their target, and at worst it is a criminal offence.
I've just started the series - 2 episodes in. I think the series has potential, but so far the writing is poor in my opinion. It's like the show is confused as to whether it is a serious drama or a slapstick comedy, as it seems to jumps back and forth between the two every few minutes. I'm finding Earn's attempts to win back Lada both silly and quite disrespectful to Lada. She needs to have a mature conversation with Lada and explain what happened, rather than just stalk her and smile at her, while pretending their past didn't happen. Writers using unnecessary misunderstanding as a driver of the narrative is a very tired technique and indicates lazy, unimaginative writing. Now 4 episodes in and the writing hasn't gotten any better. If anything its worse - daytime soap opera quality dialogue between characters. Earn still has made no attempt to apologise or explain to Lada. I was hoping this drama would be of a similar quality to "Blank", but its not even close. And now in episode 6 they're magically back together because ... because ... dunno, the show doesn't tell us why Lada changed her mind. Apparently Lada just forgot about being dumped by Earn a couple of years ago. There was an opportunity for a skilled writer to give both Earn and Lada's mother satisfying redemption arcs, which could have been interesting and emotionally rewarding for the viewer. But we didn't get that. We did get a fairytale happy ending, but by episode 8, I was skipping through just to get to the end of the drama. Now that I've finished the drama, my overall feeling is one of frustration. This series could have been so much better with good writing. The actors were very capable and the cinematography was also quite good. It was the crappy writing/direction that let everything down. But just because I didn't click with this drama, doesn't mean you won't. As I write this, this drama has a MDL score of 8.3, so a lot of people really liked it. My score is 7.5/10.
The subtitles are bad for this. But drama was great.
They're perfect on the Netflix version. Just make sure you pick "English" subtitles rather than "English (CC)", because the CC version assumes you are deaf and need as description of what music is playing and who is talking. It may be that English (CC) subtitles are the default and have to be changed.
And now in episode 36, he's trying to force himself on her. Yep - he's a quality human being.
