Finished watching it.I'm very happy with how they changed it.
I'm currently watching the Korean version. Would you mind telling me how the Philippines version is different? I AM after spoilers, as I'll likely never watch the Philippines version because there are no English subtitles for it (As far as I know).
Really good drama. Interesting story line, great cinematography and very good acting. However, every time I saw Won In Jae played by Kang Han Na, I remembered THOSE scenes from "Empire of Lust". I found it quite distracting. Also, I think all drama writers should be banned from ever using the noble idiot trope again. It is such a very, very tired trope, and it is lazy for writers to keep using it just to manufacture a breakup to extend the narrative. If stupid, artificial scenarious are used purely to extend the run time of the show, then perhaps the episode cound should be reduced. Quality over quantity is my preference.
It's true that this series could have been better with a bigger budget, more experienced actors, better writers, better production staff etc. I long for the day when GL series are being produced that are on par with Netflix K-Dramas, but we are not there yet. So for now, I'm thankful for "average" GL series like these, and I choose to ignore the faults these shows have and just appreciate them for what they are. 7.5/10 from me.
Got up to Episode 10 quite enjoying the drama, but then Liu Qi started to repeatedly sexually harrass Xue Tong. This type of coersive behaviour is creepy and toxic, and quite frankly, I'm not interested in watching it. I'm aware that in future episodes, she actually gets with the guy currently sexually harrassing her, so I'm pulling the plug on the drama now. 6/10 from me.
Pretty good drama, but it could have been trimmed a bit, perhaps down to 16 episodes. Especially in the second half of the drama, there were some slow bits. 8½/10 from me.
Generally a pretty good drama (8/10 from me), but I'm going to have two whinges (because that is what comments are for). 1.) The Noble Idiocy trope has been used a billion times in K-Dramas. I think it is lazy for writers to continue to use this trope over and over. Surely some of them are creative enough to find some other way to drive the plot forward. 2.) The (almost) obsession of inserting murderers/serial killers into otherwise fluffy Rom Coms is becoming tiresome to me. If I want to watch a thriller, then I'll watch a thriller. If I want to watch a fluffy Rom Com, I'd prefer if it didn't decide to try to be a thriller half way through. Rant over. Have a nice day.
I'm used to writers using misunderstanding to manufacture conflict in a story, but Episode 6 takes that trope to new levels. Misunderstanding upon misunderstanding upon misunderstanding, all protected and reinforced by layers of voluntary mutism, unreasonable assumptions and generally extremely immature behaviour by the characters. The end result is incredibly frustrating viewing. Voluntary mutism is a really lazy tool for writers to use to extend misunderstanding / conflict for much longer than is necessary.
Great drama, everything perfect, she is wonderful! 8.5 is too low as a rating, what happens to people who don't…
It is a great drama, but not everything is perfect. I have a big problem with Yoon Ran Joo chosing to live with Lee Seo Joon, who only a few days earlier was actively trying to destroy her financially. He experienced no consequences for his toxic behaviour, which is essentially the writers normalising this toxic behaviour.
Why would Yoon Ran Joo be living with the man who only a few days earlier was actively trying to destroy her financially. Jung Bong Wan's abuse was physical and he's painted correctly as the bad guy, but because Lee Seo Joon's abuse was financial, he's given a free pass and he also gets the girl. It's messed up. Writer's, especially female writers, shouldn't be normalising ANY type of abuse.
I can only recommend to you My Liberation Notes. Really in this drama vibes on terms of down to earth people,…
Thanks for your suggestion. I haven't yet seen "My Liberations Notes", but it has been on my 'to watch list' for quite a while. I loved Kim Ji Won in "Fight for My Way" and also "Descendants of the Sun".
The reason why it is stated to be 18+ here on kisskh is because the original network has it listed as an 18+ show. You can see this is written in Thai numerals at the very start of each episode. So the question then becomes, why is this show rated 18+ in Thailand? I don't know the answer to that question, but my speculation is that because the show contains same sex attraction and kissing, that might be enough in conservative Thailand to warrant an 18+ rating. In my opinion, this show so far has been PG13 at worst.
I've watched about 150 dramas, and have never scored a single one a 10/10. That changes today as I finish the last episode of My Mister. This drama is a masterpiece.
This is an entertaining drama with romance, comedy and heart-touching moments. The story and chemistry between…
I'm not quite half way through the drama yet, and I really hope you are right about character development. The FL is very simple and cute, but she is basically a doormat, letting others step all over her. The ML is a toxic creep, using the power he has over her (as her boss) to manipulate and coerce her into doing what he wants (e.g. "confessing" to him, staying at his place), while also regularly belittling and insulting her. He continually acts like a petulant adolescent, rather than an adult. But I'm sticking with the drama hoping and praying for some positive character development, and the creepy, toxic "relationship" they have now to develop into something much less creepy and toxic.
No she wasn't, she just wanted what she thought was best for her daughter... Maybe she made some wrong choices…
OK - I'll concede she wasn't "evil", if being evil requires malice. But she absolutely was a "conniving, manipulative, controlling, self-absorbed b1tch."
I'm pretty sure that this is the clip that Stacey25 was referring to. https://twitter.com/i/status/1729935645261304281. I really can't undersand why they'd shorten the kissing scene for YouTube - there is no way that kissing violates YouTube's guidelines. Also, I can't understand why this show is rated 18+. From what I've seen so far, it is barely worse that PG-13.
I found this episode a bit confusing, with the numerous flashbacks. Also, the audio editing seemed really strange, with periods of silence and then differences in volume. But I'm still enjoying the series, and that's what really matters. I'm just grateful that this studio is making GL content, so I don't want to be too critical.

7.5/10 from me.
Graphic nudity and way over the top sex scenes. Not much else to say really.
