Yes, I also think a lot of people are watching both. I don't really get the one against the other thing. It's gonna be hard to find something that lives up to both once they're finished (... is what I said a million times before LOL). I think I’ll just get into something completely different for a while, something like the upcoming Sisyphus… until the next cute show comes along of course ;)
Is this drama catered for younger audience? As with most high school romcom?Trying to decide between this and…
Why decide between the two? Both shows are very different in some ways, but very similar in others. Both are heart-warming, both are funny (TB more slapstick, RO has more witty language), both are romantic, both have fantastic main characters. And both deal with similar issues: be yourself, value yourself, don’t let others put you down or bully you, don’t let others decide your fate. The main differences for me (apart from the age of the characters and the occupations that come with those ages) are that TB is more colourful and exciting, and RO is more relaxing and more mature. What I love about TB is it’s entire cast of supporting characters who are all integral to the whole picture. What I love about RO is the language; the dialogues are such a joy. And in TB of course there’s the whole thing between Suho and Jeojun (by the way… Jugyeong belongs with Suho, and Jeojun will have two great friends and find another wonderful girl to love) while in RO the relationships between the two main pairs are refreshingly clear. I'm watching both and I love them both.
This episode was perfect. I love the whole cast, from Grapefruit to even Soojin... And every character needs to be there. I think some people underestimate this show a little. It is very well written, the balance of romance, drama and comedy is spot on. Fingers crossed for two great final episodes next week!
I agree with everything you said here - what I'm holding out for, is that we're going to get some lessons in the…
So they introduce Seojun's sister, who at first appears to be in the same predicament. And yes, she lets Jugyeong do her make-up for her performance because she feels insecure about her looks… But then she goes back to being wo she is because, in her words: “If I hate my face just because they say that,” (stuff behind her back)… “I’d be agreeing that I’m a loser. I’m going to ignore them and live with the face I’m given.” Seojun by the way calls his sister “my pretty girl”! And then there’s the fact that several good looking characters, like Suho, Soojin, and even Seojun have issues that also impede their happiness in one way or another. And about Jugyeong loving herself... she is learning (she's fine with Suho seeing her as she is, she's trying to do well in school, she's got a job that she's pretty good at, she's thinking about her future and chose a profession)... but learning comes with setbacks. There are still 4 episodes to go. I’m just saying that I think the show is pretty balanced.

Hasn't that lesson been apparent since episode 1? From the moment you see Jugyeong being bullied and Suho falling for her the way she is... (clumsy, funny and with good taste in comics...). It's the whole point of the show.
I don't think they ruined Soo Jin's character, I think she has always been like that. She has always suffered…
Spot on. This even makes you wonder if she really loves Suho or if she perceives her rivalry with him as love (if I can't beat him I'll have him, so to speak). Subconsciously of course. But I think you're right that this makes her look down on Jugyeong: she was fine as a friend when she didn't seem a threat... and she can't believe that Suho would choose Jugyeong over her. Some people hate on Soojin's storyline, but I think it's necessary... it illustrates how Seojin is in the same boat, but makes a different choice: he steps back and chooses friendship (with both Jugyeong and Suho).
Rich male leads and poor female leads are so stereotypical for kdramas however the writer really made this an…
It depends how you define rich. The ML is rich in money and status, but poor in family love and social connections. The FL is poor in money and status, but rich in her independence, her job fulfilment, and social ability. The writer did good!
Guilty? Run On is no True Beauty to feel guilty about watching it lmfao
Nothing guilty about watching True Beauty either. It's funny and sweet and completely different from Run On. And it's perfectly fine to like it... which I do!
I don't mind waiting a whole week... love the anticipation! Looking forward to tomorrow though, yay! In the meantime I’m watching Misaeng to tie me over. Been on my PTW-list for donkey’s years... Why didn’t I watch it sooner?? It’s brilliant! (If you like office dramas, which I do, and Im Siwan, which…;)

And I'll search for work by actors, writers and directors of stuff I like.
