Product placement might be annoying, but studios can't afford financing shows all by themselves. So deal with some product placement, or get used to overall less well made shows... If you want to see less product placement you could limit yourself to shows made in collaboration with Netflix or other such streaming sites, because that replaces the product sponsors. It’s been getting harder and harder for creators to find sponsors anyway, because of the declining viewer ratings in South Korea... they are watching American shows on Netflix, the irony lol... Interesting circle...
If you’re interested… check this piece in today's Korea Times:

For me product placement only gets annoying when it’s done clumsily (this usually involves Subways and characters who you KNOW would absolutely NEVER get anywhere near a Subway sandwich…).

The Untamed is beautifully made, with a fantastic story. What caught my eye on YouTube and made me watch the whole thing was the wuxia scene on the roof in episode 3. I couldn't be bothered to watch a drama of 50! episodes just for the pretty faces (I love the fact that most Japanese dorama are done in 10 episodes!). Is Lan Zhan Pretty? Yes. Is Wei Ying pretty? Yes. Pretty faces are as much part of a compelling story as pretty sets, costumes and music. Do I drool over Wang Yi Bo and Xiao Zhan? Nope. Would I watch them in something else? Sure, ‘cause they did great in The Untamed. Am I inclined to watch any of the other “pretty” actors? Nope, ‘cause 50 episodes!!... and I’m really more of a K-drama fan (my favorite is Stranger… the lead guy is handsome but hardly pretty…).
Anyway… please don’t measure every drama fan by the same yardstick… it’s unfounded and pretty useless tbh…

I love how the screenwriter and director know that whe've seen it all before: all those overly long dramatic medical procedures. They know we can fill in the blanks. So every time they choose to cut that stuff short to go back to what this show is all about: the friendship and collegiality between the characters. And they are characters to fall in love with. My favorite drama list will soon be filled with shows by Shin Won Ho and Lee Woo Jung!

Yes, let's all judge this show after two eps, jeez. It's exactly what Dae Hyun does towards Saet Byul... and he realises two eps in that maybe he was being an ass...

I really like that JCW takes risks with his choice of roles. Of course he knows that people want him to play mister Action McDreamy... like that's challenging... This drama is silly and goofy and it isn't cast in the same mould as every other K-romance. Sure it's got it's flaws, but comedy is hard to do and I caught myself laughing out loud several times already.

In my opinion then that's a very arrogant comment. We are all different and for some people this drama might be…
The only "fact" in all of these comments is that people write their opinions. That goes for me as well, of course. Everyone is welcome to agree or not. Sometimes we state our opinions a little more strongly than other times. Maybe because we feel strongly about something…
I’ve read several comments of people saying they were going to watch this drama, but decided not to because they’ve read in comments that it’s “slow”, and I think that’s a shame. Because they might be missing out on something wonderful.
I’ve also noticed that “slowness” has become a negative qualification of dramas in comments all over MDL. “It’s slow so I don’t like it”. Why is that? What is wrong with taking time with something worthwhile? A story told slowly can be beautiful. If it gets boring it might be because the story drags, or there’s not enough content to fill the episodes. But that is not the same as being slow. That is why I think it’s a lazy criticism. Again… all of this is my opinion and it’s fine if you disagree.

So me writing my opinion is arogant and you writing yours is not? I thing I clearly said it's fine if the drama is not your cup of tea.

I'm adding this later, after my comment to your next comment:
Just be honest and leave the first sentence in your reply as "That's a very arrogant comment" instead of changing it to "In my opinion then that's a very arrogant comment" after I replied back with "The only fact...".
As well as all the "(in my opinion")s and "(in your opinion")s in the bit below this... those weren't there before either. Don't make like your reply was nicer than it was. Stand by what you say, or don't comment at all.

I’m sorry, but not liking this drama because it's "slow" is the laziest criticism, really. It is set in a small town, where the pace is not as exciting as in a bigger city, obviously. The whole point of Hae Won moving back there is that she wants to escape from the hectic life in Seoul to examine where her life should be going. While Eun Sub seems to have put his life on hold until she arrives back.
The pace of this drama fits the story perfectly. It gives you little glimpses at a time… of the main couple’s romance, of their backstory, and of all the wonderful supporting characters who give this drama so much colour.
If all of that is not your cup of tea that’s fine. But boring? No. This drama is too well made for that to be true.
