Uh... the female lead of Stranger, for instance? I wish you hadn't just picked rom coms, 'cause however strong the woman is she often still depends on the male lead. Nothing wrong with that, it's what a rom com is for, but still... And if you do do a piece on strong women in romantic dramas then there’s really no excuse to leave out Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.
The only movie that comes close to this masterpiece is the super deluxe. If you are planning to watch this movie…
Uh... what are you doing with pen and paper... you'll miss stuff, I'd say instead. Also, don't read any plot spoilers... and don't watch any trailers. Just go! This movie is all the better for not knowing anything beforehand! And see it in the cinema if you get that opportunity, trust me.
Minutes long standing ovation and Palm d'Or for best film at Cannes. Golden Globe for best foreign language film. Nominated for best director, best original screenplay and best film by Bafta. Apart from best international film, the song 'Soju One Glass' also made the Oscar short list already... and the main Oscar nominations haven't even been announced yet. And all well deserved, 'cause it's a wonderful film!
I really want to watch it. But I really dont understand what kind of movie is Parasite. Is it scary?
I didn't think it was scary (I'm NOT a horror fan... yikes). There is violence, but I think it's wonderfully balanced with humour. It's really difficult to explain without spoiling anything. Best to see it for yourself. Please do.
Yes!! I totally forgot about Parasite and I liked it too :) Thanks
You can edit your post, right? It's weird not seeing Parasite in there. Especially when you start your post with links to previous years. Imagine clicking on this one next year. Other than that: nice list.
Saw the film yesterday. I get that it's not for everyone, but the hype is well deserved. I loved everything about this movie: premise, script, photography, acting. Most has been said, but I'd like to draw attention to the soundtrack which is awesome. It helps set the scene, accentuates the funny bits (wow, the humour in this movie!), and it builds up the suspense.
The guy responsible is Jung Jae Il. He worked with Bong Joon Ho before, on Okja. You also might know him from working with Park Hyo Shin (he's the one playing piano on 'Wildflower'). And did you hear Choi Woo Shik singing on the song 'Soju One Glass'? Check it out!
This was my first Thai Drama, as I usually am a K-Drama watcher and am not too fond of Chinese ones. Cried like…
Agree with a lot you're saying. But this is kinda spoilery for people who haven't seen it. Let them judge for themselves and put a spoiler tag on, maybe?
Also: what’s wrong with the physical strenght of a woman?
