I’m sure you’ve noticed too that Wei Wuxian does everything right according tot the thousands of Lan Sect rules... well everything that’s important anyway... :

be compassionate; be loyal, fillial and friendly; take pity on the desolate, help the lonely, respect the elderly and care for the weak; be sad for other people’s suffering and rejoice in their blessings; lend a hand in need and rescue those in danger...

I love how this is read while he’s thinking of mischief^^ and then they whip him for some wine...

I haven't forgiven him, but he's a tragic villain... you can understand where he's coming from. If only he'd gotten some more candy as a kid^^. That's why I like him as a character, and yes, that beautiful song helps a lot.
