I'm wheezing! Great things come with great memes and hilarious cracks. The one with the shark family is brilliant…
Right?!^^ Too good not to share! ;-)

Technical schmechnical... I love the clunky CGI!!! And you know what... it's not even that clunky. Also... so many movies and series these days have flawless CGI but a god-awful script. Are the special effects adequate enough to be swept away by the story, the characters, the sets, the music and the emotions...? Yes? YAY!!!

I like 'Weightlifting Fairy KBJ' more than 'Strong woman DBS' when it comes to female role models, it's more relatable. I also like the girls in 'Splash Splash LOVE' and 'Healer'.

There are no Japanese dramas in your list so I'd like to suggest some; the female characters in these are strong for different reasons. Sometimes because they can literally fight or hold their own in a man's world, and sometimes just because of the choices they make in life:
Chihayafuru
Juhan Shuttai!
Our Little Sister
Seirei no Moribito
Tori Girl
Miss Pilot

I'm glad you enjoyed Trapped! I actually haven't seen Long Time No See, yet, though I plan on watching it once…
It's pretty short^^. Do watch it! It's by no means just fluffy... there is a history of hardship, but it's functional like in Trapped. I really loved it. Curious what you think.

After reading both your articles I just finished watching 'Trapped' and it was lovely! I'm not a BL watcher for BL's sake, but I do love a good love story, and when an LGBT+ story is done well there's sometimes an extra feel-good-factor... why is that? Of course there are double the amount of men to enjoy watching compared to straigh love stories^^. But maybe it's also because it's a kind of victory over prejudice? Which is an element in stories about difficult love affairs anyway, like a disapproving environment or jealous others and such. It's Romeo and Julian isn't it? Only it's so much nicer when the main characters don't have to go through abuse or even die at the end. Overcoming difficulty is fine as a dramatic device, like the crime story and parental story in 'Trapped'. But the love stories in it are healthy and pure.
I was wondering if you've seen 'Long Time No See' (similar themes) and what you think about it:

I am a teacher. There's NOTHING more important than to be trustworthy to your students. I love Oh Han Gyul's struggle to be better, because he knows he's still lacking. I'm confident he'll succeed. Fighting!!
