Apparently Xu Zhengxi's fans are upset due to some unreasonable fans. From almost 90 days of filming, he only…
Nah, some folks were unhappy because he did actually work "more than he should, he might overshine their idol" drama crap.
C-Biz have some weird names for roles like "special guest" and whatnot; so people assumed that Xu would go there snap a few scenes in 3 days and peace out.
When the role turned out to be taking a bit more screen time, the usual drama happened: insecure fans get "anxious" about whoever is taking the ML 's "spotlight" and start bashing Xu. The latter's fans will respond and of course, we'll only see their response... interesting.
Seeing how they changed the story, we'll never be sure about the ending
Yes, I don't know what happened behind the scenes but that decision turned into a short hiatus, which are good news as long as they don't force him back into some idol crap with mediocre actors like in this drama.
Jeremy definitely overshadow Allen in this drama he is such an amazing actor, and it shows in his face expressions…
His eyes are bigger and deeper, not his fault. You can watch their live interview when nobody is actively acting, his eyes are wider than Allen's
Another issue is the shooting angle because others are SHORTER, so his face is always shown under a different angle while the others don't have to. When the focus is right, his eyes look surprisingly normal. But I understand that people used to stiff idol acting can't make a.difference between standing out because of acting among idols and being a sore thumb because he's not stiff and lacking talent, aka "subtle acting".
So I don't see what you mean by "natural acting", here I see the lack of it, ML being the usual thing again and again. He's free to be his natural self but onset, he must incarnate a character. So I repeat, I don't watch people, I watch actors. If I wanted to watch people, I'd watch reality tv (and even that is scripted). I've seen articles stating the same thing about the bland performance.
Seeing how they changed the story, we'll never be sure about the ending
I just hope for the next projects, he'll get the freedom to pick or go for castings to respectable ones where idols aren't cast. They always have a fraction of lunatics who make life difficult for the other actors. Another example is the lunatics from the "Church of Wang Yibo", they were trashing a veteran actor like Wang Yang, the level of audacity is beyond my wildest behavior ever. So Jeremy, an actor who has been struggling for years for good scripts? He'll be an easy target.
He has to deal with saving his mother's ass from treason charges that will wipe out their whole clan, get his…
If this happens, it's gonna be the news of the century!!! HK acting scene is overall superior, their talent remind of the SK acting scenes, you rarely see mediocre actor last, they're on another level. I know Mainland has the same thing and they're dividing series by quality, those made by platforms aren't the best ones... and unfortunately, for international viewers like me, we don't get to see most their hidden gems. China should stop gatekeeping good stuff lol.
He has to deal with saving his mother's ass from treason charges that will wipe out their whole clan, get his…
Yes! This is why he's among the actors I respect... when I watch "him", I watch a character, I really forget I'm watching Jeremy. That's the sign for me that I'm watching a good performance, not a fool posing (I love me some handsome dumb fellas, but I'm satisfied with seeing their pictures, it's enough, no need for them to try to be alive).
So the main issue is targeting, marketing-wise, his agency is incompetent. They're pushing him to the wrong segment (who see good acting as a joke, too used to dead fish-looking idols who are quickly replaced when they're close to 40, even before at 35 for dudes), and associating him with idol actors/rookies, he can't pull the shows forever on his shoulders and they're also harming his evolution... imagine being a good actor but capped with mediocre colleagues, once he gets with good ones, it might be a bit rough, I hope he's honing his skills and coaching himself. By the way, he was present in the premiere of Andy Lau's latest movie. He was allowed to speak during it: https://weibo.com/tv/show/1034:5082594300329995?from=old_pc_videoshow I hope it's a sign of a future collaboration that would be an amazing comeback for him!!!
Is it just me or does Pei Yan always look like he's constipated and trying to push out a huge shit?
He has to deal with saving his mother's ass from treason charges that will wipe out their whole clan, get his scores set with Wei Wuxia, his eternal ennemy who happens to have the evidence that would create the collapse of his Clan forever, all while thinking about getting back Jiang Ci and keeping himself composed to not alarm the Emperor.
So yes, he has better things to do than looking "beautiful" and his non-botoxed face help a lot conveying the message. Good acting includes looking pissed, not indulging in "subtle acting", aka the lack of talent.
Disappointed this drama. I though it is about Wei Zhao's life when I watched the promo. But it is mainly Pei Yan's…
They misled their audience because the novel is everything but centered about Wei Zhao, they wanted to lure fans into a "romance" (which isn't the main point of that novel).
Both characters are good and it would have been better if they kept it male-centric, with romance at the side.…
It would have made more sense if they casted a beautiful actor, fully masked and then when she sees him, that teenage FL from the mountain will crush hard on the beautiful bad boy (stereotypical but true lol).
Make both bad but Pei Yan, who's very handsome, has also that aura of power, keep his title as a prime minister while keeping the real status of Wei Zhao (inferior at court, wearing plain clothes but his beauty shines) to make the story believable. Jiang Ci picking beautiful bad boy will be a no brainer since teens are intimidated by powerful and restrained men, even if they were handsome haha.
They can't pull out this with the current ML so here we are....
Jeremy did manage to make that character dislikable, which is a good sign. However, the scenarists are emphasizing…
There was a drunken scene where it wasn't represented well in the series where he's opening up. There's also hope for Pei Yan because he does things well, he was just under harsh situations almost since his birth.
Seeing how they changed the story, we'll never be sure about the ending
I really hope so, a good ending for Wei Zhao. Seeing how some idol cult followers are mad about Pei Yan's screen time and want it reduced to increase their idol screentime, a sad ending might cause useless harrassment to Jeremy. Bro has a severely sick father to take care of, he doesn't need those trolling lunatics.
who do you like or dislikePei Yan , San Lang? and why?
Both characters are good and it would have been better if they kept it male-centric, with romance at the side. I'm a feminist, and so done with mediocrity being served to us as if we were moronic women, such failed attempts to force an FL down our throats are pathetic.
However, the Luoyao tribe has "beautiful men" who were actually sent to be sex slaves, the novel says their men are like women (beauty-wise). They could have cast actors who look beautiful, I have three "Li" s in mind: Li Hongyi, Li Dai Kun, and Li Qing. If you google their costume appearance, they're sooo so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing.
What I'm watching doesn't match the description at all.
I actually love the way majority of the people can't really root for Jiang Ci and Pei Yan at this stage anymore…
Jeremy did manage to make that character dislikable, which is a good sign. However, the scenarists are emphasizing this to bring up Wei Zhao under a better spotlight and to market a "love triangle". Both had plans but at the end of the day, Jiang Ci will chose which toxicity to love.
He wasnt mindless lovebrain in here though. He used the FL throughout the drama for his political advantage and…
I remember watching the blood of youth because I was impressed with ML in a previous series. I ended up appreciating and becoming thankful for another character, Wuxin (Liu Xueyi). A good actor can bring you to the series but he won't make you stay, especially if he made successive weird ass dramas. For Jeremy, I know about his struggle with his agency but now that he was back, I assume he must have "negotiated something." Now, if he gets into another mess, I won't watch. I do encourage talent and I'm totally "compassionate" about their struggles with their agencies but I ain't no Spiritual Saint, I also need to watch good stuff, seeing one talented actor pulling up frequently whole series on his shoulders become a daunting visual experience (and a traumatic experience, I feel their pain). Not for me if next time he gets pressured into another bullshit.

Allen is quite good friends with Jeremy, that's none of.my business as a viewer, my concern is about quality.
It doesn't take away the fact that they're mediocre.
