So I gave in and watched the last episode and well, it ended. I can't say how great it was because it wasn't. Everything felt rushed and the director really needs to know how to not dim grand events because that last fight lacked the payout it was looking.
I guess the Grand Mentor is Shifu based on that convo she had with the cute Prince Weiyun.
It's been boring for a while now. It's just continuous loop of events. The dialogue is too flat for it to be truly memorable. The writing is not nuanced enough to have any emotional payout for me so I've dropped it. It happens, just pick up a new drama.
Every episode I miss Shaozi because that's all I care about at this point in the drama. And what clothes Haishi is wearing because the clothes are exquisitely made
I am sorry to say I found the latest episodes meh. I enjoy strong female characters but Haishi’s halo is too…
Big facts and don't even be sorry. I hate that the ministers have been reduced to nothing but puppets instead of intelligent and strategic thinkers. Surely, not all of them are incompetent otherwise how would the Empire have survived this long? And Shifu's role has really just gone somewhere. Might as well make him a shadow because that's all he does, follow Haishi and ensures he saves her even when it's not unnecessary -______-
The way Bihong died was hilarious lol. She ran into a wall and was out.
That shit sounds morbid but the anger she caused me could last a lifetime. She can't compensate with a mere bump into the wall. The run itself was so flat, so drab, incorrect posture and sooo uninspiring -____-
I honestly don't see the attraction.I think these cold and quiet men are only interesting when they reveal depth…
Fair point. I don't think I've ever really liked him tbh or maybe it's because I don't like William Chan's almost lifeless eyes. He just doesn't emote well.

Honestly, Fianming needs to talk with Ashile Sun on how to be a ML. How to treat the woman you love with sincerity by treating her as an equal, embracing her individualism and capability while also being there for her as a pillar of strength. Not always sheltering her from the realities of her mistakes but letting her know after every mistake comes with a turn of redemption. His character has been stoic for so long that he's not doing anything for me and the series is almost finishing.

Neither do I! The cold, aloof or domineering ML is a popular drama trope in C-dramas but honestly, most of these characters are written in such a way that has no depth or no emotional payout. I don't know why they're still writing ML characters as if they're releasing these dramas in the 2000s. It's tiring to have to sit through a drama with these MLs. Jianming is basically a Mary Sue.
I really like the lady in waiting, Stewardess Yu, by Haishi. She's resourceful, resilient and listens to her commands. Bihong, wherever you are sis, please take notes so that you are a better lady-in-waiting in the next life

But is Bizi is being noisy. Sis, learn from Bihong -______-
