Agreed on all accounts. But looking forward to more episodes because everything so far has me wanting to throw hands. At this point, I'm only rooting for Haishi and Zhuoying to win in life atm. Everyone else slowly getting on the five nerves I have left lol

The more I rewind back to the episodes, the more I begin to like Wei Shuyu more and more. I didn't hate his character before, I just appreciate him a bit more now.

I hate dramas that over-exaggerate with the lipstick to the point where the character is stuck in the desert overnight and the red lipstick is strong as hell lol I saw that clip of her finding out she was pregnant after fainting and they had strong red lipstick and a flower in her hair. They seriously had sis dolled up during mourning. I seriously could not stop laughing. I guess this is an example of the company prioritising star over story that everything else loses logic. But Tencent got what they wanted which was traffic and money.

Considering that she and the guy (General Editor of GQ China Mr Liu Chong) next to her were presenting an award together, it makes sense that they would be seated together. I think it's best that they weren't directly side-by-side as YAMG has been off air for a while and both actors have upcoming projects that no doubt, agency and company will not want any attention to be diverted from. I think there will be plenty of opportunities for Reba and Gong Jun to promote Anle personally in the future. As for the fans, tough luck.

Yes and that's the thing I dislike about how agency's use traffic artists and I understand why there's a lot of criticisms by veterans towards them for that very reason! Honestly, I don't know who at Tencent/agency hates her, but there must be a clause in her contract which requests for a certain make-up look and her styling just felt tacky and out of place in this drama.
A lot of these stars need an independent team to help them negotiate with the agency. I can picture Li Yi Tong, Kai Xuan or Hu Yi Xuan in this role.

Agreed! Her acting isn't the worst but it would be great to see improvement as she uses the same expressions for a banquet, funeral, death, danger etc. This role could've been fleshed out better.

It's a tragedy and it's made worse by the obvious contrast in acting Ju Jing Yi's acting and JZ's interpretation of the scene. I only watch little clips on YouTube now
