Great, if so, because usually we get just standard series that can be pretty good, but are not exceptional.

I just watched Project 7, his first role, and it all has looked perfectly fine to me, I would not have even thought once “babe, you need a bit of touch here and there”. But this is just me, not how he feels. Besides, it was a long time ago, so maybe he has started to look more tired lately. I will check his new looks.

This is just the weird way they have structured the series with various stories that have actually nothing to do with each other, but yet they wanted to connect them somehow at least with the use of Earth’s character.

I am not getting the football incident. If I were a friend of Santa’s character, then I would not have wanted him to interfere as it would not have ended well for him, either. Earth’s character behaves a bit selfish. But there are people who are this way, so I am not subtracting points from the rating for that.

Come on, a school director can not take away someone’s scholarship just randomly. Also, the director would not have tried to protect his nephew in this situation, that would have been too late for that.

Why the wounds make up is always so bad in these dramas? They just smear lipstick on the faces of people.

To be fair, those types of surgeries are quite minimalistic and relatively safe, so there is nothing wrong with them. Perth was also critiqued for the veneers that look to artificial (the teeth separation is too shallow), but if the lad likes it, so be it. Actor Gun has also done an eye surgery about three years ago to remove excessive fat under his eyes. I guess he thought he would look a bit better with this, and he was right. All those things are not scary to be worried about.

Just because you are gay it does not mean you should avoid communal bathing and showers in a boarding school. This will immediately make your situation worse, as correctly shown here. It is not the time to treat yourself as some special snowflake with unique sensitivities. Do that after you are not in a collective of teens any more.

Also, the parents have to be incredibly obtuse to send that type of a teen to a boarding school. It is pretty obvious who he is, so he would become a natural target for bullying everywhere. But some parents are this dumb for real.

The pacing in the beginning a bit too fast it terms how fast the main couple connects.

From the UK media I have watched Benny Hill Show, Yes minister, Jeeves and Wooster, all of which are classics I could recommend without reservations. I did not watch the original Office series, though. Did you? People say it is great.

I have only watched Korean dramas where the acting is rather tame versus what I see in Thai productions. But maybe I did not watch the different kind of drama. That is even fair about Thai series: I was a bit surprised at Golden Picture drama, which is not a BL, though this being the main story. The acting there is not anywhere as over the top as in Turkish, Indian or Latin American soap operas, but still a notch above typical BL series.

Wait, Win is not the BLs any more? I did not yet check any newer series with him. I have only recently seen him in the yearly GMMTV festival. I do not remember Bright there, but I know he is a part of a quartet with Jeff Satur.

In terms of Western perspective, I guess we have too much of that, but not in a good way. This is how we get all those moral police reviews, cancellation campaigns over jokes and everything worst what the “woke” culture has brought, even though originally meant to be well intentioned. The Western exceptionalist “moral” superiority complex and the desire to dictate it everywhere is heavily ingrained in many Western viewers. So I maybe would be more interested to read reviews from actual Thai, Koreans, etc.

Wait, why did First’s character say he did not know who is hating him so much that he has started to print out and send intimate photos to everybody?

Just looking at the photos it should have been immediately obvious who the culprit is, so this part is not believable.

First’s character is an adult and his boyfriend is rich, so why should he get back home just because his father has angrily ordered it?

Also, it is pretty clear that the character is a victim of revenge porn, which is a crime. So it is not quite believable that he would be seriously blamed in this situation.

The moral of the story is that you should not allow yourself be filmed and photographed even if you currently think that you are with “the loge of your life” and that you will be together “forever”. And that revenge porn is a crime.

Rich people should not pretend to be humble and try to hide their charitable donations. This is because by announcing it they raise the issue to the public eye and provide an example of action. This way they will bring more good than trying to be humble.

Remembering things does not cause headaches, this is just a silly drama trope.

A former husband can not possibly “forbid” the former wife from seeing their son. Thailand is not a lawless land, so there is no way for this to be true, unless the mother is a repeated (!) alcohol/drugs abuser, gambler etc.

It did not seem to be believable even in the original series that such a petit cute lad would have become a team captain, especially considering how moody and easily distracted he is by his private life issues.

This series makes the same mistake nearly all other series make: one of the lads of the second pair is written and behaves nothing like a male, which in reality physiologically desires intimacy very strongly every day. This dynamics as shown is not believable at all.

This First’a character does not really progress, he is still infantile to a point of being unbearable. But this is how some real life people are, too.

It is not believable that he has forgotten that he has kicked his step months in the stomach.

Turns out the whole drama of the original season was just a misunderstanding. Also, this season’s drama about First character’s mother is fake because not only he has forgot what she was about for no reason, but his father did not bother to explain him anything later even though this is the whole reason why they had bad relationships, so it is fake, not believable drama here. The lad is not a child even remotely any more, so there are zero reasons to keep any secrets from him.

I know nearly all BL series pretend that sexual orientation does not exist, but in reality it does, so the late drama about the possibility of the Ja’s character cheating is fake. First’s character knows that his lover is gay, so there are zero reasons to worry.

Drunk people are not confusing people just because they are drunk. Both in the couple behave so stupidly that it makes you angry. Those two are the most capricious, feeble and useless Captain and vice captain ever.

As it happens in serie like this, an obvious crime case never gets to police and prosecution for the stupidest reason like “we want to win fair so we will not call authorities”.

One of the lads in the second pair is rich, so if their love is as big as they think it is, nothing would stop him from flying to his lover as often as possible.

The series should have been like 8 episodes long, not 12.

YES, this is slow, but cute lads make it worth it.

There is nothing you can do, after becoming a couple with someone, that you already were not able to do without the status. The only point of this status is to say that you and your partner are taken. This should drive away advances of other people, if they respect your relationship your desire to continue it.

The series has it all backwards. Males first do everything fun together, then kiss, then only maybe become boyfriends. Nobody is awkward by that stage any more, so the whole series’ premise is not believable, and, hence, is not as engaging as it could have been, and is even annoying to watch. “Just do it already, idiots” is the only sentiment I had, it was not cute.

What the series suggests as “sex obsessed” is not an obsession at all, it is perfectly healthy desire to have lots of fun. It is just some people prefer more partners than others. There is no “sin” in it to be punished or forgiven for, it is not a mistake at all.

Wow, the first ever sex toy in a BL series! This is really commendable.

Also, males are not having the fun with themselves under blankets, it is a film cliche made up to show the action without showing it. But it is great they have shown it even this way because you can not portray a real male character without it.

Not a fan of those tablecloth/plumber/mechanic patterns the stylist was dressing First in this series. And they other time the lad got full grey clothes in full grey house.

By default they are all straight, unless they choose to disclose something else. The policy is that normally they are not talking about it because it is commercially the most convenient choice. Do not ask, do not tell (the rule that was active in the military of the USA until relatively recently). Just a few people did disclose their non traditional sexuality due to career and privacy considerations, especially at GMMTV.

Some actors at GMMTV “come out” with their attires and behaviour quirks. Here, we can make educated guess that those might be actually gay/bi.

I would have understood your sentiment if we were discussing a new series with new actors. But with the series this old we can say that they actors are not gay/bi pretty reliably by now as all they had for years was girlfriend rumours, and they have never once indicated they are part of the LGBT community in any way. There are other actors that were active in those years who did come out one way or another.

In comparison, we can see projects by other studios that did actively employ gay/bi people.

In general, we have the opposite issue: fans deluding themselves into believing “this ship is real”, “they are in love” etc while zero evidence exists that either of their beloved BL couple is even bi/gay, let alone in that they are in a relationship.

Totally agree that there are other types of sexuality, including asexuality. And they deserve to be explored (including sexuality and medical castration); it fact, the series would have been way more interesting in such a case.

But I wish the authors would have ever dared to do it intentionally, rather than just being not very good at telling a story about more regular kinds of sexualities.

In reality, the journalist would have been threatened, his house burt, his legs broken, his body disappeared. The same goes for the pathologist.

But here, the main hero is left slide over and over again.

What? The journalist has for no reason forgot to say what he was doing to the pathologist?

A pathologist would have known that one of the victims had an abortion shortly before dying, so all nearby aboetion clinics would have been checked right away. But her is a revelation in the middle of the series.

Thai investigators are not using the threads or make collages like films in the USA show.

Cars have lamination on windows, so hitting it with a stone or a brick would not really work.

Everybody is deaf in those series because time and time again we see people not hearing attackers coming from behind.

What is this circus with forcing one main lad to kill another when the evil people can just kill them both without any issues.

People in the series do not lock their phones.

The whole story only need like 6 episodes but they dragged it with the nonsense to 14 (!).

There is another important mistake: pathologists are not allowed to autopsy the bodies of people they personally knew, they must recuse themselves. For the same reasons listed above.

Thai acting is not of the restrained school, usually. It is easy to catch, if you watch Korean or Japanese dramas. To me, Chinese/Taiwanese is somewhere in the middle. I did not watch series from Philippines yet (but plan to), but the general rule worldwide is that the closer a drama is filmed to the equator, the more overly emotional actors need to be, so I guess their dramas are more similar to Thai ones in this aspect.

The aforementioned Sunset drama is a great example. While the two leading actors did a great job in non-crying non-verbal scenes, both of them are described as weeping and wailing crybabies in the script, and they perform accordingly, which was too much for me. And they were not overacting because I checked BTS videos and this is how they naturally cry. Only by the second season the characters are maturing and the actors were instructed to tone it down a bit.

If the very same series was filmed in Korea or Japan (or in the Northern Europe, for that matter), the crying aspect would have been radically downscaled. But this is how people express themselves in those cultures, unlike Thailand. I would have preferred the northern way because I myself more from that type of culture. Even though I am a crybaby myself, I am not wailing aloud. And this is why I respect the Untamed’s second lead performance because it was requiring a limited set of nuanced tools to do the job.

But this is just me, so I consciously try to discard my preferences when I “objectively” (LOL) judge. So I did not subtract any points from the Sunset because of this. (The same goes for the series’ tempo, which is so slow that some can not even finish the first episode, but this is also intentional.)

With Chinese dramas there is also the nearly wall to wall dubbing issue, which splits actors’ performances into two. I understand the benefit, though: for example, the natural speaking voice of the actor for the stoic character in The Untamed is not that good (though his singing voice is).

As to the IMDB, this is the site I was using in the first place. I did not even think of this one until I have stumbled upon the fact that the IMDB does not care to include lots of dramas and actors from Asia, it is too costly for Amazon. Did you know that Jeff Bezos does not have enough money? So I had to register on this site/application (which is a glitchy mess).

Also, I would actually like to search for series with sex the beginning (like Make It Right etc), though there is no way for that in this database. Especially after 2gether series, which was the worst case of the opposite that I have maybe ever watched. Strangers that cross each other on the streets have more desire and affection to each other than the main couple, Bright and Win, there. By the second season I came to a conclusion that the only way to rationally explain the series is that Win’s character was secretly castrated, LOL.

To be fair, I do not even mind people not acting as rabbits immediately, but at least show me attraction. In the Sunset series, the couple was brought together like magnets, you could feel it.

That is fair, but maybe you have noticed cute actors there. If this was a general drama series, it would not have mattered. But the BL genre sometimes makes me watch series that I would certainly have never watched otherwise, LOL. BTW, I like your double name: sounds elegant.
