You have endured the torment for us. I love those lads but I am afraid I will have to skip the series.

I am watching this right now, it is only the beginning of episode 4 but so much rolling-eyes level of nonsense happens that I feel second hand embarrassment for the writers of one of the most ignorant and laziest scripts out there.

I imagine the filmmakers and the studio producing this as is while knowing perfectly well that so much in the industry is not even remotely similar to the BS script. It is disrespectful to viewers, to be honest.

I am unfairly kind in my useless numerical ratings because I put a heavy weight into the lads factor (just looking at Est brings pleasure) and whether the show was boring or not, so I prognose it will be higher than 6.5, even though it really should not be.

IF ANYONE wants to watch an entertainment industry drama that is also unrealistic and otherwise faulty, but better, I might recommend Payback (2026).

AFTER so many BLs turned into bromances in China, Japan and Korea, I find the very concept highly annoying.

It also reminds me of the worst Thai offenders like some early “BL” series where couples do not even kiss, really, or later fake BL series 2gether where the leads were actively avoiding intimacy or anything that actually represents dating.

That said, aside of this the series might be very well as great as people say.

SUCH a rare series.

It does not end with the couples' first kiss, it explores what happens afterwards. A teaching story for the youth.

Of course, it is still not as brutal as real life ow, it still keeps some naivity and unrealism.

COLOURS and costume design is also rare in mass production series, but it is here.

Maybe it is hard for Krist to act in BL more engagingly because he is afraid that people would think he is gay, and he is triggered by this question greatly.

There is a number of actors like this, alas.

WAIT, did not one or even two older BL series already had the premise from the synopsis?

I do not remember the titles, though, but I wonder if this is a remake or just a random reuse case of the same trope.

I am not seeing where I told you to do anything, I was just pointing at the difference between issues with how this series was executed, which is a way more objective thing, and the the unwillingness to see bad things happening on screen without immediate didadtic “bad things are bad” grandstanding, which is a taste thing.

Some people like overt moralisatons right then and there in the media, and others think that viewers are capable to derive their own conclusions, they can actually think for themselves.

This is an age old discussion about “toxic” characters and relationships is separate from easier questions like plot holes or wooden acting.

The only point I am not into is the issue with cheating and non-verbal consent to intimacy because both are widely present in real life.

We are not watching The Godfather series and thinking that it better not contain murders (which is a way worse thing than what BL series normally show) or comes out to explicitly condemn the practice over and over again.

This series shows behaviors that people find acceptable or find unacceptable depending on culture or personal preferences. But this on its own is not a negative point against the series score, unlike other issues that you mentioned.

I have seen a Chinese news report about the “AI” issue and it explained that the Chinese filming industry went through fundamental change is one year with thousands of workers fired and replaced with neural networks. In many studios only directors and their assistants are kept, but they are paid in 2026 thrice less than in 2026.

This is pretty dystopian but the cutthroat competition in Chinese drama market is insane like nowhere else.

What will happen when this will come to Thailand and other places in full force?

I have watched just one Thai series with great close combat fighting: Till the World Ends (2022). But it was not great in other aspects, so it is not a recommendation.

LIBC? The film of the series? I only watched a few Korean productions, but not this one yet; will try it. Also I am still lacking in the watch time in Japanese, Philippine and Chinese productions.

Yes, the Burnout Syndrome was pretty good and not fluff. But it did not touch upon “serious” socio-political issues, unlike Not Me or The Edge of Horizon (indeed, flawed for character writing issues).

Regardless of seriousness of topics, I am not sure there there are ever objectively perfect series, but the closest to that I have ever watched was I Told Sunset About You and its second season I Promised You The Moon. The rawness, honesty, realism, the colours of those works makes them festival quality art pieces.

But from GMMTV I liked the most old fluffy series like Bad Buddy and My School President. Both series had something a bit less usual than what we had in newer series like We Are, Perfect 10 Liners etc. And they were not too pretentious unlike Not Me, which has attracted attention to its plot holes.

It should have about the same script, is not it? If you liked the last episodes of the Japanese version, then maybe you can like them in this one, too?

To be fair, lots of silly things happen in 1000 Stars, too.

Even though people say that JoJo's vampiric beginnings are supposedly weak, I like it very much. But I am not enticed by this series.

I guess the whole GMMTV approach is just fluff, and as far as they could ever possibly go was an old series Not Me from 2021, though even that was incredibly naive and silly.

But for more serious works the parent company has a sibling Channel 3, which sometimes makes things that are not totally brainless, even though faulty still.

From new material I would recommend The edge of Horizon (2026) and, for the most unthinkable plot for a typical BL, Rup Thong (2018).
