I would rather call it gay themed general drama, so it can raise subjects that are way too serious (e.g. domestic abuse and the Stockholm syndrome that makes people stick to their beloved serial criminals) for the fluffy, silly and cute BL genre.

Sadly, the storytelling uses a number of soap opera tools that make it longer than necessary. Viewers have to be prepared to watch characters in “can't see
the forest for the trees” state, spending dozens of hours of the screen time to learn things that were one question away in the first place.

That said, if you like the mood of the series and be able suspend disbelief not only in the magic setting but also in some other aspects, you would not mind the slow pace and enjoy the submerging into the world the authors create. Especially if you like the actors, so seeing them act would already more than enough.

Your review represents this feeling very well, thanks.
On Job Thuchapon Koowongbundit Mar 2, 2026
I just want to complement the job Job has done with his dramatic characters like Nut in the Miracle of Teddy Bear series, where he was fully committed to portray a deeply disturbing and violent criminal. Lots of people like this exist in real life, and their stories need to be told, too.

People are not all about ponies and rainbows, and yet they both love and get loved, however detrimental it is for their partners. This is a great lesson for viewers to be careful and warned.

The way the lad was playing is a hundred percent believable: you see a dangerous psycho.

Too bad it was such a repulsive, horrible criminal character to play, but he did it convincingly, a great job…
There is nothing more complex in this character than in the character of — let’s take an extreme example for the sake of clarity of the point — Hitler who has loved the German people (in a twisted way, though), his family and dogs dearly, and was a pretty decent painter.

The main thing about those characters is that they are fundamentally criminal in their nature, it is just how their psyche works. Their other quirks and characteristics are completely superfluous to their dangerous being.

I think you have some issues handling good actors like Job playing criminal characters like Nut, and doing it great with nuance that make them three-dimensional but not diminishing the fact of how horrible they are.

You might want to watch The Godfather film for more cases like this. There, actor Brando plays a criminal, even though it is not a caricature, so it is done well. This is not a “reductive” description, either; this is what the character was.

Finally, what it is the point of going to actors’ pages to round and soften realistic characters they play? It devalues, cheapens their work which was good specifically because how committed they are to portraying some of the most repulsive human behaviours.

What do you mean by Mame? One person writes all the scripts for years? Why? There is a monopoly?
Thanks. I did not know that she (co-)owns the company itself so she is unavoidable. I liked the lad’s first series Love In The Air very much (even though it has its series faults), but newer series are too focused on the type casting then that might be going overboard.

Well, the character has repeatedly assaulted and kidnapped a person in the series, which results in many years of jail time. The character’s abusive nature could only ever result in more home abuse and violence and years in jail, so no person should be ever close to a character like this. However, this character is absolutely real, there are many people exactly like this, and lots of tragically unhappy people are in love with them still, sometimes leading to their demise.

LOVED him as Nut. I wish he had taken he had taken more bl roles after TMOTB
Too bad it was such a repulsive, horrible criminal character to play, but he did it convincingly, a great job (pun intended): such people do exist in real life.

But this also explains why he has took the role: that series was not a BL, but a regular drama that had core gay theme. It is a different genre and a different set of actors who play in those projects, they are general roster actors, not BL ones. Hence, no regular BL series.

The same has happens with actors from other gay (not BL) series e.g. Golden Picture (Rup Thong, 2018).

Was it real, though? Now they feed a couple of photos of actors and write a prompt for a neural network to generate…
In terms of writing I have not seen anything really good yet. Neural networks generate nonsense that looks sensible only on the surface level.

That said, as an avid watcher of media I have to say that most of scenarios there make no sense, either, even though they are written without any neural networks.

The issue is that most scenarists are not capable of writing meticulously coherent and logical scenarios, so random stupidity is happening.

Though, to be fair, lots of is not scenarists’ but producers’ fault because they often come and say “look, it all is great, but rewrite this part and adjust that part”, so even if the scenarist had written a fully sensible story it all falls apart because scenarists and even directors are not the bosses in any project, only producers are.

So if you want to work in this field your way is to find a producer and director who would respect your scripts or you might want to also take a role of producer yourself to be able to guarantee coherent implementation of your ideas.

Especial with neural networks coming, which make thing worse in many cases. The only exception could be “script doctor” “assistants” that could help to streamline and connect beaten to death script pieces and even find contradictions and things that make no sense, though for now it is not there because logical “thinking” is not what neural networks can do even if they are merged with algorithmic logic as in some “deep” “thinking” “pro” versions of neural networks.

Jests aside, it depends on the neural network.

Open AI’s Sora 2 generative neural network often produces videos that are indistinguishable from reality to the naked eye. You watch it and can not believe that this is not real most of the time. Sora 2 was premiered by the end of September, so the production team could have used it technically.

But, of course, it is still way more likely real actors were used before they were already contracted by that point and the whole filming process was planned anyway.

What about future projects, though? The dystopian future of the “AI slop” making viewers depressed as they would know that nearly everything is fake.

Rare expensive projects with real alive people will be cherished. “WOW, can you imagine actual people are in the picture and they are doing it for real? How cool is that!” But it would require some sort of certification and audit to diminish the amounts of fraud about this.

Specifically in the BL business it might be a hybrid because a major branch of it is paid fan events that require alive real humans to be on the stage (not some hologram). The question then would be which scenes in a series the actors have filmed for real and which one were generated. Maybe only the most high profile productions would proudly showcase “no AI footage” stamp.

You might want to watch the Golden Picture drama. It is called Rup Thong (2018) here in this database because…
Yes, low rating here does not mean it is actually worse than series with higher ratings. Lots of votes by people who do not like the characters and their behaviour, not the series. If not everything in the series is ponies and rainbows, then it is “toxic”. As another example, one of the all time must watch series Make It Right also has low rating for this reason (it is not a masterpiece and has faults, but this is not why it was downvoted).

To be fair, one this does it not deny another. As I mentioned, he loves piloting but it also provides good stable money, and the audience will not see him as much because it but it is fine because what is good for the lad is what important, not what fans want.

So after I have watched a Korean series about sex with animals that have turned into humans, this one is about…
WAIT, it turns out that Nut knows the bear lad as a real person, but he has an amnesia so he did not recognise him and was trying to hunt him down as a thief?

And it is not believable in the slightest that Nut would have refused the possibility to spend a night with the bear. Males have incredible lust and drive for some fun every single day at least once or, better yet, a few times.

Victims’ connections are not investigated at a possible crime scene, they are directly invited to the police building for that.

It is funny how the policemen are shows to be surprised at the idea that a company that was protested by the victim might be benefiting from the attack. But it is kind of accurate because sometimes the police is corrupted by the company.

Why Nuts lives with his mother at such a mature age? He is already a psycho, and the madness of his mother makes it even worse. Makes no sense at all. And we can not even say he lives with her to be her company or help with anything because the series admits he is in home mostly just to sleep, and this is she was glad to have the bear with her besides the hallucination of her husband.

You can not get an invite to a casting session without a video; just photos would not work nowadays.

It is weard that the angry lad has all of the sudden starts noticing that the bear is smelling bad midday, even more strangely he does not wash him first to then shop for clothes, so the bear is walking smelly for hours of the screen time through all of this and then some family drama.

It makes no sense that the mother’s phychatrist is prescribing her some sleeping pills while in reality patients like her get prescribed neuroleptics to lessen the hallucinations issue, among other drugs.

WHAT? The doctor says the mother has all of the sudden become schizophrenic after the tragedy? No wonder the mother gets prescribed random shit and is not getting better: she is misdiagnosed by the incompetent doctor. Her condition is not a schizophrenia, it is a trauma-triggered bereavement psychotic disorder of other variants.

Also, any real treatment should always include regular psychiatric sessions with the patients for her subconscious to accept the loss of her loved one, what would fundamentally solve the issue along with the drugs which alone can not do it as it is correctly seen in this series.

That woman absolutely needs proper treatment because the disorder is stealing her life and her future. But her angry son has failed to find a competent psychiatrist to treat her. They need to live separately because she is harming him, too, always remind him about his dead father.

What? A drama about who between twins is the father of the nuts lad? Biologically it does not matter becuase they are genetically identical and were raised in the same environment. Even personally it does not matter much because identical twins that raised in similar environment have nearly the same personality.

Also, if one of the twins is still alive and available, then the sick mother issue could have been alleviated by her reconnection to him, if he is free at this time. Especially if he is might be the actual father of the nuts lad.

What is the problem with the remaining twin just get a divorce from his wife he is not in love with? There are no issues with divorced in Thailand, unlike what the series shows.

The drama between the remaining twin and his wife is not quite believable because it happens decades later than it should have credibly been.

Neoroleptics pills are bitter and you better not try to crush them as most of them are meant for slow release within the body, so it could be very dangerous. But the mother would not have drank those juice glasses with bitter taste anyway.

The series is always talking about bodily reactions from attraction like heart race or heating but does not mention the most common reaction a male, which makes no sense just as their whole relationships where two sexy gays are all of the sudden celibate the whole time.

When a person has fever you give him a pill, not the stupid towel/sponge bath. The latter can only be supplementary for the hygiene of the person if he is too weak to take shower.

It is ANMOYING how the production team puts tender romantic songs in the scenes of Nuts crying, suggesting that viewers should empathise with him and, ultimately, coming together with the bear. Nuts is a disgusting, repulsive serial criminal, a violent maniac that repeatedly assaults and kidnaps the bear lad. As I mentioned, there are love stories like this, but do not pretend it is anything to be feel cute about and root for.

The scene with the twin being followed in a hospital by some guy who was hired by his wife is absurd. He would not do it with that ridiculous outfit, he would not be this close to his target, he would not be following him inside the building but rather wait for him near his car while sitting on a motorcycle, he would not have stumble upon a nurse, and the twin would not have attacked him right there in the hospital as is the crime of assault.

However horrible Nuts is, he is right to suspect any most outlandish conspiracy theory over the idea that a teddy bear toy came alive.

The lass is the series is a poor soul: evebody she loves is gay.

The writers do not understand what identical twins are. They grew up and become their own persons as even small environmental effects accumulate, so they are not fully identical, but they are still overwhelmingly similar in both looks and character. Yet this series suggests identical twists are completely different people in their character, which can only happen if the twins are not identical or if they are brothers.

The bear’s investigations into Nut’s lover and into his own past are really silly. Could have been solved very quickly with just minimum sensible effort.

The writers are wrong to say that parents do not love some of their children more than others but rather love them differently. it might be fair to say about some parents, but not others who absolutely love some of their children more than another. They especially love their first child more, and this is biologically, evolutionary makes sense because elder children can earlier succeed in procreation themselves and be helpful to the aging parents.

WHAT? The mother has forced Nuts to break up with his boyfriend in 2010? It was not 1980, so it is not believable.

The decision by the production team to split the high school backstory of Nuts and the whole love triangle from then into countless tidbits spread through 24 hours of timeline is not that good because viewers can not always remember some scenes that are like 10 hours of screen time away from each other in either direction.

WHAT? Alzheimer disease onset at such a young age? This does happen, even though very rarely. But if the mother is already getting lost right away, it is even rare case, and relatives are warned to care for the patient so she would not endanger herself. So the fact that nobody knows about it is not believable.

Why the mother saying that the bear is also her son makes Nuts happy? This suggests that he and the beer are just very good friends just like brothers. So she is still denying their relationship.

The soap opera classic tricks to drag the scenario are funny, but I with there was more content so it would not be needed. Everybody is trying so hard to not learn anything and avoid making any moves for anything to happen, not tell anybody anything for fake reasons. The scene of the couple meeting could have happened like twenty hours of scare time earlier and was postponed for no legitimate reason. The series should have lasted for 16 hours, not 24.

The father’s arguing with the mother about her love with his twin shows that the scriptwriters do not know basic biology because he is saying that his son has his twin’s DNA, not his, even though they are identical.

The whole drama with Nuts and his former lover makes no sense because there was absolutely nothing what has precluded them from continuing communication remotely or reconnecting as soon as Nuts has started working and was not financially depended on his parents. And yet neither of them did with some flimsy excuses. If the love was there, it is not believable.

The mother has become too forgetful too soon for the age she was diagnosed.

The series’ doctor has forgot to name the worst symptom: parents “forget” how to breathe and die.

The action scenes are as funny as ever because the evil attacker does not even remotely acts like how it would happen in real life.

WHAT? The evildoers try to kill a policeman with a gun? This would only work if the police station overall is under the corrupt influence.

The Nuts’ story makes not sense because if he has died from an allergic reaction tests would have shown it and there would have been police investigation into his death.

So the official story is that Nuts’ mother has covered up a murderer, her lover, who had later assaulted another person and now accused of murdering the bear? What a good lady.

The idea for the series is weird and makes no sense in the following aspect: why would the bear turn into Nuts’ first love, if the bear is supposed to be the soul of his other lover? Also, why that soul did not remember that it belongs to that lover? This nonsense has made the story confusing for no other reason than to make it complicated. They have split the lover’s love in two.

Basically, everybody but a few people is the whole series are criminals, including Nuts, his mother, his father, his uncle, etc. And the main character has died twice in it, which is very rare.

They talk about the miracles at the end of the series, but why not resurrect the bear as human again and make all three lads experience polyamorous relationship?

But even if they keep the bear as bear, and, even more miraculously, a moving one, then why not make him confess to Nuts and his second lover via writing a message on a pavement etc? Though that bear existence is barely bearable after he was a human and has experienced orgasm that now is inaccessible to him. Though Nuts could be doing something to it, if he were to have a fetish for this kind of fun.

The second season of this could have been the lover being hit in the head again and the bear popping up as a human again.

WHAT? They wrote a lass who has always been interested and in love with men all of the sudden fall in love with a lass? This is not how it works at all.

WAIT, Nuts also got the same mental illness as his mother has had, and he is seeing hallucinations? Almost: thankfully, it was a dream.

You might want to watch the Golden Picture drama. It is called Rup Thong (2018) here in this database because they forgot to translate the name to English for some reason.

This is not a BL series in its style, almost a soap opera (some funny aspects about this), but the LGBT there is its whole issue. It has its drawbacks, of course, but actors are great, and the story has crucial truth to it in terms of what can happen to people who are cornered. And there is an early minor role for Oat actor from BoatOat couple that has become famous later.
On The Miracle of Teddy Bear Feb 25, 2026
So after I have watched a Korean series about sex with animals that have turned into humans, this one is about sex with a teddy bear?

But the premise is deceitful: *IT IS NOT A BL SERIES* but a regular drama with gay relationships where the stupid bear thing is basically unnecessary.

The issue is that Nut character is pretty nuts, a truly bad person. While there are people like that, so it is realistic and believable, it does make him unlikeable and makes the bear’s love for him look like Stockholm syndrome of sorts. The serie is hard to watch because of him mainly.

The reason why the main lad is so REPULSIVE at the beginning is because this series is like thrice longer than a normal series. If the lad was not as psychotic and horrible in the beginning he would have too much room to progress, he would have become “good” too soon for the series’ runtime. Even the “top” lad from the second pair is too angry for no reason in the beginning.

The storytelling is also excessively detailed with lots of unnecessary flashbacks because they have needed to fill in the allocated screen time.

The older generation of characters here is played by actors that are both much younger and much older than their ages in the series both in the current time and thirty years back.

At certain point the main hero, a scenarists, exposes why most BL series, including this one, are bad: “you just replace girls for boys, it is not that different”, while in reality the relationships are drastically different, it is totally different dynamics when two males are interested in each other.
