I was just gonna comment the same thing! I am rewatching my fave BL’s that I saw for the first time a year ago…
For Peak, watching Make It Right is a must. That series has its own issues, but it is so realistic and bold in some aspects that this alone makes it worth it. Lads there behave as real lads that are not eunuchs in abstinence and celibate, unlike near all other series that are absolutely fake in this key believability issue.
That series also has maybe the best love confession scene I have seen in any BL series so far.

Cahoot’s most prominent use in series is crying, so scenarists are overdoing it.
And yes, this is mostly “nothing happens” type of series that was made for people who like the lads. SantaEarth was a big couple back in the day before the agencies switching has split them, so people have watched this just for the sake of the couple as there is not much else to the series.
I am not a turbo fan of anyone in any series, but I am watching BL for the lads in general (for stories we can go to Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Wired, Rome), so I will get through this series anyway. Just seeing Santa and Peak is bringing me pleasure.
The scenario, however, is the tired trope about, by all accounts, a straight lad that has all of a sudden turned gay (or bi) at the age that it too late for such discovery, so it is not believable.
BTW, I like Perth, too, though is not he shorter than Santa? It should not matter much, though, as the agency is making the shorter lads to use shoes with “K-Pop soles”. But I wonder why the agency has decided to go with PerthSanta rather SantaPerth. The latter could have worked just as good as there is nothing much specifically “bottom” about Santa. (Though I find this dichotomy stupid anyway becaue most gays are versatile.)
The relationship dynamics is not that believable because if you know that you are doomed to die in twelve days, you are devastated and numb, and the last thing you want is to get attached to one more person to lose.
So, realistically, the lads would have been detached this whole time, only maybe engaging in fun with each other to satisfy biological needs, but not being chummy and cute otherwise.
If get to know a lad whose all relationships have never lasted more than a week, run away. This means he is unbearable. But with the way this lad is portrayed, it is not believable.
And considering that he has hit the over lad on the head over relationship that did not even last a week, I would say that the hitter is mentally unstable and dangerous. A PSA: do not date people like that.
“Democratic protesters” is the code word for regime change actors, often paid and armed by the likes of the CIA, Mi-6, Mossad, etc. Be it recent violent riots in Iran or Tiananmen Square, it is almost never actual “democratic protests”.
It makes no sense that the crazy murderous lass is all of a sudden surprised and crying that her maniac killer boyfriend was killed in defence from his attemp to commit one more cruel murder. Especially with them all dying in a few days anyway.
Not quite believable that the curlers lady has lost her husband to AIDS in any recent years because the issue is basically solved for a while by now.
Also, it is not believable that one of the lad as well as the lady’s relatives would be afraid of her because she has the HIV. It is not the 1980s when this was happening in Thailand, indeed.

When you try to explain your wrongdoing, you do not go with the filler nonsense like “Calm down”, “Let me explain myself” and “I did not mean it”, you go straight to the point, so this scriptwriting is bad here. It is perfectly understandable explanation that he has had a a jealous rage case. But the writers has made him not explaining anything to milk some drama out of thin air.
WHAT? The twink thinks the other lad has tried to KILL him? With a flimsy guitar? What kind of nonsense is that? I know the scriptwriters are at it again, trying to overdramatise things unnaturally.
If the curlers last has decided to die in her flat when the mop hits earth, then it is makes no sense that he is choosing to die in the rubble, possibly in an accessibly gruesome death. In reality, she would have cared to get some sedatives to go away on her own terms right before the disaster.
There are no reasons why the second lads couple has joined the crazy cannibal lass and her murderous psycho maniac boyfriend.
After shooting the crazy lass, why did not the lad also shoot the other two maniacs? It makes no sense. He has already killed a couple of people and they all would die in days anyway.
Why some old guy is walking with tubes in his nose with no issues breathing himself other than occasional coughs?
The physical fights are filmed much better than usual, though due to the series cheap production I am afraid this was to the detriment of the actors.
The level of gruesomeness in terms how this series show violence towards its end also deserves the highest praise: this is very close to the perfect realism.
Other everts are still silly. The lads have dragged the time for so long that they are going to be too late to get to the bunker.
The final after-credit scene that shows the twink awakening from a dream with his head does not make much sense this moment was already after the doomsday was established as a reality in this series.
GENERAL setting issues: 1. no way the moon could have ever drop onto the Earth, but lets suspend disbelief on that. 2. However, no bunkers would be ever able to save anyone in this situation, but lets suspend disbelief once again 3. It is not possible to make bunkers for 80% of the population, it is like a couple of orders of magnitude bigger percentage than what is feasible, but lets suspend disbelief here, too. 4. Still, there is no reason why the bunker gates get closed 12 days prior to the impact. One could suggest this is to cure some huge additional concrete blocks in the front of the doors, but then it would still make no sense because it is not feasible to do this in this time not even remotely, let alone to procure this amount of concrete. 5. The series characters do not behave like the world is ending in days, even though they all are doomed one way or another. The sense of utter pointless would have been the overwhelming emotion, not the romance and happy moments shown in the series.

Many viewers are very young, so they are new to watching tragic stories. Because of this they are emotionally affected way more than experienced viewers. For many people a story with major characters dying automatically becomes a masterpiece, even though it is not even remotely so.

Some say this series is a masterpiece and others say they could not survive it pass its second episode, and there are lots of issues with the script (what happens makes no sense in nearly every way).
I am watching the first episode now, and it is an awkward production due to low budget, uneven sound accompaniment and some suboptimal direction choices. And one of the actors might be too old for his role, though he is playing well.
But maybe it somehow becomes incredible later on, will it? Or maybe people are just too mesmerised with the leading couple because they are really good actors (and they are, I know one of them from What The Duck series)?
I know the main issues here are the script and directing, but seeing Win in promotional materials were you excited because you like his acting or because he is cute?
From what I gather some do not praise his acting skills, while others find it good enough and focus on his lacuous lips they would like to kiss.
Korea is very conservative. No gay marriage or anything, just like Japan, China, Russia etc. LGBTs do not exist.
My guess this annoying practice of censorship in Korea and other countries, even Thailand, where it is not necessary, is meant for broader international markets that might be stricter (e.g. Chinese platforms) or to satisfy specific internal regulators.
