I just read the article on MDL and I'm shocked because this is looking to be a bad K-drama plot in the making. It sure beats any makjang drama I've seen! If these new allegations are true, then it appears that Gold Medalist have some dealings with a Chinese crime syndicate, which could explain why the FBI are investigating this stabbing case and not the New Jersey police. As for why Saeron agreed to be recorded, I can only guess that it has something to do with legal actions that she was planning to take at that point in time. Assuming of course that the recording is real. I think the recording makes sense though since she did write a long message (or letter) talking about her relationship with Soo Hyun that she never got to send. And the fact that Gold Medalist is being accused and maybe even sued for stock manipulation and tax evasion tells you that this is way deeper than just some grooming case and a story about exes.
I know, there isn’t any romance, but do the female lead and the male lead have a good chemistry? I mean, do…
The female lead is the older sister of the male lead's best friend. She treats Jiamo like her own brother. She has a slight romance with another character, though. It's very subtle. The male lead has no romantic interest at all.
still dont understand why eun-su didnt choose tae-suk but joon-su.. rewatched the drama yesterday again and yeah..…
You're welcome. None of these are romance, though. Maybe that's why I liked them. Weak Hero has two seasons. If you haven't seen The Uncanny Counter, I'd recommend that too. And oh, Prison Playbook. That one is pretty good too but it has a slight romance.

I recently finished Weak Hero Class 2. Another K-drama I enjoyed watching that has a lot of cool action is Study Group. Moving is a good superhero K-drama with lots of visceral action as well. If you like thrillers, I recommend Connect, which was directed by Takashi Miike, a famous Japanese filmmaker. I also liked The Art of Negotiation, which is a business-centric drama. Trauma Code was also entertaining. My favorite K-drama of all time is Misaeng, though.

I don't watch a lot of romance-oriented or makjang K-dramas, not really my cup of tea. It's just that I didn't have access to a wide variety of K-dramas back in the day so I had to make do with what was available. But since these days we get a lot of Korean content, I prefer to watch more action-oriented or more business-centric dramas. Those that have unique and fantastical plots also appeal to me. I sometimes watch dramas of Korean actors I like but if I don't get hooked immediately, I drop them. lol

Tbh, I found their relationship somewhat incestuous and gross. They were raised as siblings and made to think they were related until they were in middle school. Even adoptive siblings don't fall in love despite knowing they're not related. I just found it icky that they were raised in the same household with the same set of parents until they were in their early teens and they secretly had feelings for each other. I low-key hate these pseudo-sibling romance tropes and it was the trend in K-dramas back in the day. Even now there are romcoms that use this trope and I am not fond of it. The character that had the best development and growth was Tae Suk and even though I disliked him at first, I learned to appreciate him and was the better man at the end. Won Bin's charisma made that character more sympathetic.
Ngl, I enjoyed his villainous performance in Weak Hero Class 2. He was easily my favorite part of that season. He was born to play the bad boy. lol But you know what they say, if an actor is great at playing the villain, they're actually the opposite in real life.
To manhwa-readers, can any of you please explain Na Baek Jin's backstory? It would be nice if you could place that on the discussion board so non-manhwa readers who have finished the drama and are curious about his background and relationship with Baku can check it out. If you just write a comment on this page, it'll get buried in just a few hours.
I don't care what anyone says, when a great show airs on Netflix the following seasons will suck. Off the top…
The first season was not a Netflix production, though. It was under Wavve. The drama was relatively an underappreciated gem until word of mouth helped blew it up internationally. The rights were then acquired by Netflix and they produced the season 2. I agree that even though this season is still enjoyable, it's not as good as season 1.
when the last group fight, im thinking about the crows zero scene instead of that.but thats pretty much the same,…
Yes, I see shades of Crows Zero also. High & Low had similar fight scenes too. I know High & Low gained a cult following in Korea so they might have drawn some inspiration there as well.
what's with some of the blurry scenes. am I the only one experiencing that?
Dude, I thought it was my internet connection! I kept restarting my router. lol I ended up watching on my phone because the blurry scenes were more horribly apparent on my 27-inch monitor and even on my tablet. I guess the problem was not on my end.
Is it just me or is this series becoming more like High & Low? High & Low was pretty much created to promote the Exile Tribe of idols, and similarly, they chose to cast more idols in this new season of Weak Hero. Hence, the more good looking cast of actors. Plus the fight scenes, though exciting, are becoming less realistic. Not that I hate these changes but I was hoping they had stuck to the more somber and serious tone of the first season. That was what set it apart from other school gangster dramas/movies, just like Study Group went the comedy route and used over-the-top action scenes to be different.
I actually enjoyed this for the most part. The only things holding me back from giving it a much higher score are the inappropriate musical score and the lengthy and unnecessary exposition dumps they do at almost every episode. I get that they have to explain the lingo and how things work in this industry, but the fact that they felt the need to spell things out for you by making other characters discuss why some characters choose to do something or what they're thinking just to explain things is dumb, and they're treating their audience like newborn infants with close to zero cognitive skills who can't understand what's going on.
I understand his jealousy, him feeling worse and awkward, the odd one out. Especially when Young I came into the…
He wasn’t obsessed with Si Eun. If you’ve noticed, he had a habit of checking Suho’s Insta and fondly looking at his photos. He didn’t do that with Si Eun. I believe he saw Si Eun as more his equal but Suho he idolized.
