In a state of perpetual exhaustion

I have been a Liu Yuning fan since the Long Ballad and I feel bad whenever people criticize his looks. He's very…
I honestly don’t understand why they think he’s unattractive when I can think of Chinese actors who are a lot less appealing than him.

Netflix worldwide or just certain regions? Pleaseeee, the US!
I think it’s worldwide. It’s supposed to premiere next Tuesday. You can check the upcoming shows on your Netflix.

My argument is about the drama having a protagonist that doesn't employ martial arts skills and just uses his wits to maneuver his way through politics as atypical because I don't think it is wholly unique to have such a protagonist. Plenty of revenge-themed dramas have leads that do not have martial arts prowess, most of them are female-centric, especially after Nirvana in Fire blew up and it practically set a precedent for all the succeeding revenge-themed stories that came after. I never said that it is the same or that it follows the same narrative. Yes, all dramas have their own distinct identities, I agree with you on that. What I meant about another Nirvana in Fire is a drama that could rival it, not to say that it is going to be a clone of the former because if it is, then I wouldn't be as impressed.

Xiao Zhan said in the interview "Legend of Zang Hai is unlike a typical revenge drama, Zhang Hai is a man with…
Nirvana in Fire is similar, though. The main character also doesn't possess any martial arts skill and is in fact dying. But he's a master strategist who relies solely on his wits and ability to manipulate people. And that is why I find this drama intriguing. I am hoping it will be another Nirvana in Fire but with a happier ending, of course.

This drama is basically saying that no matter how skilled a woman is, a man can still outshine her! I just don't…
That’s the reality. Men are just physically stronger. The only way a skilled female fighter can beat a man is if he’s physically weaker, he has vastly inferior fighting skills, or if she caught him off guard and used tricks to win. Realistically, she wouldn’t have been able to beat Han at all. That’s why men and women don’t compete against each other in physical sports like boxing or MMA and many people protest against transwomen competing in women sports. The women simply don’t stand a chance against men in a fair fight.
On Lee Jun Young May 18, 2025
Person Lee Jun Young
I was introduced to Junyoung through Weak Hero so I had no idea who he was. I recently started going through his filmography and damn, he's got range! He can transition from playing the antagonist to the protagonist, from a psychopathic bastard to a complete teddy bear, just like that. Comedy, action, drama, even sexy romcom, you name it, he can do it. Not to mention he was a former idol so he can dance and sing like nobody's business. I believe he also got into musical theater at some point. And apparently, he also paints, composes music, and writes scripts?! And he seems to be one of the most polite do-gooder gentlemen out there. Seriously, is he for real?! lol

Is bullying really this bad in Korean schools and colleges and universities or is this movie an extreme exaggeration…
In the past, yes. Some ten years ago or so, it was common. But the bullying was more psychological than physical. They loved calling anyone they thought weird "wang ta".

I didn't know this movie existed until I discovered Lee Junyoung from Weak Hero Class 2. I used to read a lot of BDSM books back in the day and I thought this would be a distasteful and watered down portrayal of this sub-culture, but it isn't. It's actually a fun romcom with just a touch of BDSM. Pretty tame but it's okay. I appreciate that they portrayed the male sub to be someone who's always put together and confident when it comes to his work and daily life but wants to be dominated by a strong woman deep down because those are typical male sub characteristics. They didn't depict him as weak or helpless, which is the usual mistake wannabe BDSM authors make. It's not groundbreaking or anything but I have to give props to the filmmakers for the attempt and the boldness to make such a movie in a still very conservative country. This deserves to be in the 8's though, 7.9 is a travesty.

Youku should follow cctv schedule with 2 eps day , everyday.
I thought so. Most likely we won't get express either.
On Legend of Zang Hai May 16, 2025
Does anybody know how many episodes we will get on Sunday? We usually get 4-6 episodes for the premiere, then 2 episodes each day after that. But so far I haven't seen any schedule yet.
On Legend of Zang Hai May 16, 2025
The plot sounds a lot like Nirvana in Fire. I hope it is similar. I could use another good politically-driven male-centric revenge drama.
On Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale May 14, 2025
It's probably just me but it's giving me Hana Yori Dango vibes. It's more Boys Over Flowers than Boys Over Flowers imho. lol Come to think of it, it has the DNA of practically every old school shojo manga. I quite like this. Just a fun short drama, no melodrama, no stress, and hilarious characters.

haii, what streaming platforms do u recc subscribing to!!! i like dramas with zhangjingyi, zhaolusi, bailu, aoruipeng,…
I would recommend iQIYI because their dramas don’t normally get acquired by Netflix and other global streaming platforms. Popular dramas from WeTV and Youku usually go to Netflix, Viki, or Prime Video. If you like Ao Ruipeng, two of his new dramas are coming to iQIYI.

Baeksang should take back his Moon Embracing the Sun baeksang (which he never deserved) and give it to the real…
Agreed! Anyone would've been more deserving tbh.

I just read the article on MDL and I'm shocked because this is looking to be a bad K-drama plot in the making. It sure beats any makjang drama I've seen! If these new allegations are true, then it appears that Gold Medalist have some dealings with a Chinese crime syndicate, which could explain why the FBI are investigating this stabbing case and not the New Jersey police. As for why Saeron agreed to be recorded, I can only guess that it has something to do with legal actions that she was planning to take at that point in time. Assuming of course that the recording is real. I think the recording makes sense though since she did write a long message (or letter) talking about her relationship with Soo Hyun that she never got to send. And the fact that Gold Medalist is being accused and maybe even sued for stock manipulation and tax evasion tells you that this is way deeper than just some grooming case and a story about exes.
