It's possible that the confusion is only due to part of it being from Hye Mi's book. However some of it like JB's disturbing paintings, according to what we saw it's the father that was a painter. Also nobody, but JC himself ever mentioning this father that makes me wonder.
So after rewatching the first 8 episodes again I have started having this awful suspicion that JC's father is just a figment of his imagination. Could JC have been the real murderer? :-(

Oh yes JB's family certainly added a lot to whatever way he turned out to be, but I think there was a problem there to start with, not sure to what extent, but still. Thinking back what disturbs me is his behaviour at the funeral of his his grandfather. Was it just JC coming through, still trully curious and obsessed with reincarnation or had JB no feelings even then... I love how SB is waking him up, he is a mess, because he doesn't know how to deal with it, so he makes horrible and terrifying mistakes, by possibly believing he is doing the right thing.Btw stunning work by JKY, the more I watch him act the more fascinated I get.

Very true, perhaps they are trying to show that one cannot get away from fate or that it is a gradual process. Although to me it seems almost like JB is worse than JC. It felt like the latter couldn't control his actions, there was this innocence about him. JB on the other hand is smart, calculating and well aware of what he is doing. I hope he finds his way back somehow, making him fully evil and just killing him off without a redemption in the end would just be sad and unsatisfying.

Oh 100% true. In ancient Greece the theatre was a form of medicine and till this day we often are looking to find meaning and living some situations through the now present different forms of entertainment. However, nowadays some people are also watching something to unwind and get their mind away from the real world, so let them like whatever and debate till they are satisfied, but are they ridiculous and should feel ashamed because they have this opinion? This is the part that makes me fee bad about it all. I also completely agree that people should know the difference between the real world and a piece of fiction. Enjoy it, talk about it, but don't take it to the real life. Thank God most people understand it.
