Well I wouldn't say non realistic = shallow. I mean many fairytales aren't realistic and I'd hardly call them shallow. I prefer the fairytalish ( pretty dark ones too) romances with good writing and acting, the intensity of feelings is the important thing. I haven't watched all that many Scandinavian shows, I might give them a try, thank you :-)

Well I never said I disliked shows from anywhere, but Korea. I LOVE some European historical TV series. Like for example I believe the Vikings isn't a US show, Canada and Ireland. British historical stuff are to die for and Russian are absolutely visually stunning! When it comes to movies I don't really like all that many Korean ones, my choice again would have to be given either to British or Russian period movies. As for US, I'd probably have to rephrase it and say that I don't like anything recent and by this I mean the last 10 years or so. I would never shun classics! I am a huge fan of romance genre you see and I find that a lot of modern stuff from the western world depicts it in a very shallow light and leaves me dissatisfied.

To each their own I guess, tried to watch cdramas again and again, various types, but they don't seem to touch me. Being fair many kdramas before 2010 and after 2017 too. Yet I would still choose them over anything from the US 🤭

I have to agree with you again here, Jdramas are pretty unique and have their share of silliness. Of course they do have repetitive stuff too, I'd even even specify and say character traits. Despite that, they often are very enjoyable. Their quirkiness is almost art in itself.
I have to say something I might get hate for, but I'm going to say it anyway. For me most of the Chinese dramas…
200% agree with the first half of your post and partly agree with the second! I do think many kdramas are getting repetitive and boring these days, but to me they are still a world apart from the cdramas when it comes to script writing and acting. No offense to anybody that likes cdramas, just a personal preference.
I wish there was a rating only at the last episode it's so stupid
Same here! Rating a drama that you haven't even completed seems unfair. In my opinion it's especially bad when people rate the shows they have dropped after the first few episodes, how can the rating possible be accurate if a person has only basically only watched a taster?
For me i don't like love triangles especially th ones which drags until ep15but after seeing people getting syndrome…
The ML as in the guy who gets the girl or the main character of the drama? Examples of the dramas where I had no idea which guy the FL loves: Empress Ki, The King in Love, Born Again, When I Was the Most Beautiful ;-)
Can somebody enlighten me why so many dislike love triangles? I like love triangles 😂
I LOVE 2 guy( or reverse harem) one girl love triangles, but don't tolerate 2 girl one guy ones( double standards, I know 😊). I think it often makes me feel like a guy is fickle and I find it hugely unattractive in men, so I lose interest in his story. I am just grateful they are less common in kdramas, otherwise I'd probably be among the people complaining about love triangles 🤣
Barely anyone knows and watched "Becaue this is my first life" so how on earth is it overrated? :(
I was surprised by that too, but then I have noticed that it has 64000 watchers, which is more than True Beauty. It could also be due to the ratings being higher than people agree to. Plus I suspect when people click on the list, not everybody bothers to try and go through their watchlist and pick the dramas they genuinely think are overrated, some just pick the dramas that are already on the list.
For me Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, it isn't horrible and the acting is nice, but the plot is very generic and personally I found it boring, I'd give this drama no more than a 7.5-8.
no way people voted for Flower of Evil😭it's genuinely so good though
The quality of this drama is absolutely amazing, the acting, the ost, the plot are all done very well. I am not a fan of the show ( despite my love for Lee Joon Gi), as I expected it to turn out differently and found some elements of it not to be my cup of tea, but I had to rate it high despite that.
I think some people rate with their emotions rather than their head, which results in very puzzling for me outcomes. Rating some of my favourite dramas lower, because I understand they are far from being a masterpiece is often nearly physically painful, as is rating some of my least liked dramas high, but I guess I am one of those idiots who has to be fair.
I must say though I do agree that it's a free world, people have the right to choose whatever, it's a great thing too!

Don't know about others, but for me it's about the excitement of not knowing who the FL chooses ( when the love triangles are done right) or when it's used to make the ML jealous.
Agree with you on the MRiaG, our Gumiho ALL THE WAY! Although I have nothing against Sun Woo admirers, freedom of choice is a beautiful thing ;-)

Go Back Couple and School 2015 ;-) Not sure what your taste is like, but most people do with those dramas.
