To say I was very excited after seeing the BTS fight scene n how ChiLam was in there was an understatement! Then…
Yup, your comments are spot on. Partly I was wondering whether this plot is self aware, hence the silliness and over the top comedy seems to be the focus. The fight choreography is good. Watching this, I won’t be surprised by the plot as it’s all spell out, I am more interested to see how CY pull of his dorky self in WuXia world. lol!
Yeah, the old communist way, your life belongs to the team, your choice is make by the team and everything yours…
Being ignorant is part of human condition…fortunately some has more wisdom and willing to be opened to new ideas. I like the Minister’s character. He is well portrayed.

Yup, I watched that one, a love never lost was a good introduction on some realism practice in the early stages of communism. Even in the popular Sci-fi drama, the three body problem, the main FL’s extreme views were product of these practices.
If you are not a fan of XianXia storyline, this may not be an easy watch. It has a lot more angst compare to ‘Blossom’.…
I do realized when watching drama, apart from having a good story that takes time for viewers to follow (unless one is familiar with the novel if it’s adapted), we are often influenced by our impression about the leads before the show. So if we already have good impression of the leads plus good storyline and directing, we will easily be suck in;). TTEOTM is one of those, good acting, good script and good directing plus a lot of other additional goodness like the ost, costume and cgi, editing were all very well done😍.
For a short film drama, this is really not bad. Both the sisters’ acting were spot on. And I like the ML too, he has always take in supportive role, glad to see him in main lead for this. Although they could do better in the romance dept., this feels like they are all co-workers working together 🤩, even the CP.

Ah…there was a long period of time that Chinese media were not open to outside world, they are very closed up almost like Japanese and North Korea. So a lot of these darker side of the history were not fully open to the public. But the past 10years, China has become more and more open to showcase their past and also their uglier side with much sensitivity on subject matter. So you may see in past, most Republican Chinese drama always shows the glory of their hero sacrifices, but I do see now, they are a lot more willing to showcase some darker history.;) Again emphasis is the principles of practice is never that extreme but people or individuals tend to tweet it to their own perception and practices, as shown in this drama.
