In subsequent ep. he is discovered that his spell will stabilized by staying near FL and he can regain adult form. He will feel her and knew she is in danger and will automatically flew to her rescue. Then he become even more powerful when he drank her blood.;). I didn’t read the novel, but as audience, we are all figuring out like him, how the magic spell works on him. Enjoy!

Based on what I understand from this drama so far, ML didnt complete the ritual in becoming a shadow puppet. However he sustained some side effects from the half rituals and became a kid, then FL accidentally fed him her blood and instinctively, they a bound by that. In subsequent ep., you will see more, do you want further spoiler?
I am confused about what the writers are doing here to Mei ZhuYu’s character. If in earlier ep., it show us that ML is very clear of his position of being unable to love FL because of his responsibilities and position, why would they be showing us that he is jealous about Pei Ji Ya’s interest towards Wu Zhen? His openly jealous and competing doesn’t quite make sense.
Writers really should’ve stuck with the novel, because Sima Jiao was never a weak character who would just fall…
Ah, this part in the novel make more sense about SimaJiao, I also wondered why the drama shows that he went into coma for 18 yrs. Agreed that it makes more sense that he was spending the 18 yrs searching for FL instead.
It’s not too bad. The first ep started with a kiss then story works backward to build the CP relationship. Song Yi is pretty believable as a female General and Ryan is cute being in a puppy role. I do enjoy it. Hope you do too;)

You are right, his name is not in the cast list. I wonder why. The actor that acts as Shi QianLv is Bao Jian Feng, one of the veteran actor. Enjoy my friend, this is quite a fun series;).
