I seconded LilaS’s view. Plot is typical XianXia, but the pacing, the chemistry and the exchange are pretty refreshing and fun to watch.
You should really try this.;)

I have not read the novel for this, but according to novel readers, it’s pretty close to the original.
I highly recommend this if you like XianXia drama, as this is very fun to watch, esp FL’s character;).

Just make you wonder why he didn’t suspect FL is a demon.?

Up to ep 10, I am really enjoying this storyline. We can see the second CP developing, just hope they don’t betray the main leads. One can say the plot is not exactly new but somehow it’s so fun to see Sima Jiao and Ting Yan’s moments.
So the Otter being hug to sleep, every night by grandmaster😍😍😍.

In a way, he is a pathetic useless villain. Since young, because of his weak nature, he lives in the shadow and also can’t use his own name. He was brought up to just take from He Yan as he was taught so and he probably know deep in him that he has no capability yet always being put in the position to be compared with powerful He Yan. So in his twisted mind, he thought by removing He Yan, he will have a chance to shine. It’s an excuse of not seeing his own flaws.
