Well, the He family is a personal villain to FL, who just want to gain power through using of FL’s General status. The main political villian against ML or the military general is Xu JingFu, who is jealous of both Xiao and He military power in court. And as a country, they are still constantly under attack by other states. And within the country where ML and FL resides, there are corruption…As this is set at a time where the country has yet been united. So I also wonder how this story can be told in the limited ep., and that probably explain the fast pacing for some and lack of depth in representation of the characters. The novel itself has more richness and set up. So for novel readers the advantage of that back story. And my only complain is this novel is actually quite dark and intense but I guess for commercial reasons, this drama is package in the heavy focus on romance.🤷🏻‍♀️ I watched it with little expectation and literally just switch my brain off and enjoy the romance😍.
