In the novel, the main theme revolves around gender inequality, female being used and discarded like rubbish, FL finding a new life after transmigration, finding love in new family and working her way up to a general position with her own ability again and showing how she can shines in a man’s world with her capability and determination without a mask. Just feels it lost here. Even the tropes here are so old school and typical.

It take me a while, now I recognized who the actress as Ms Hou Dai Rong, she is Zhang Nan, the FL for Gone with the Rain. I love her in that show and she is a great actress, sadly she hasn’t been given much recognition now😓.

Historical film can be fictional or non-fictional, it depends on the story. Like Mulan is historical WuXia, and non-fictional. But this drama and its characters are set in historical time but fictional.;)
