I observed that this comment section quite quiet, and most opinion are focus on the sweetness of the CP, I guessed it’s due to the low viewership. Or perhaps we don’t have a lot of expressive people here;).
I am putting this on hold as after the latest ep 17, I don’t like the directors’ direction. I understand from novel readers that this CP has angst due to their background connection. However the storytelling and the characters became quite shallow and not showing the depth of the transition to the reveal of their secrets. For a mature woman who pursue a younger guy, some explained that her immaturity is so she can be aligned to him, however I am also starting to noticed that her thinking is also rather immature and shows in her behaviour. She knew ML has a difficult background, although he is not sharing to her yet, she has no understanding of an adult instead starts to throw her own self-centred and insecurity at him. Yes, she may have her fair share of lost, but she has a good family that cares for her, so her one dimensional character presentation just shows the director’s angle to this story. I actually felt a little furious at how this has been treated after knowing their secrets from novel readers.

I agreed with this. I watched him in Red Chamber as a teen too and felt this kid has potential. But after that he just seems typecasted in a certain style. He puts lots of effort in his stunt no doubt, but when he does emotional scenes, it is obvious that he is limited. I watched a couple of his dramas, and often it is role that doesn’t require much emotions but just focus on stunt that he is good at them.
I felt sad for him as an actor career but with his good looks, I am sure he will still get roles, maybe he should just do stunt roles.

I also wondered this. She obviously know her Ex-boss is still pursuing her yet her boundaries with him was not clear.

😱…now I feel empathy towards the Mom…she is also a victim and no wonder she hates ML…the novel feels so much more complex.

As on ep 15, FL is starting to notice the man she is looking for is link to ML’s mom. ML is also suspecting something, but nothing reveal yet.

Thats my curiosity too. He he reaches the ultimate and transcends all, then what’s next? So in most simplicity ignorant understanding that I have, so if he become all and all becomes him, then there is no need to avoid anything even death right…hahahha. Brains working too hard.

I believe when he cultivated and let go of hus attachment, he may not feel for them as a mortal anymore and his emotions will be different from mortal.

This is interesting. So in the beginning he cultivated to survive then as he cultivated, he learn to let go of his attachments, and the more he let go, the more carefree he become and hence there is no longer a purpose to be mortal or immortal, it just is and he is just being at the state. But my curiosity is what’s next if he reaches the ultimate level and transcend all.😅

Wow, thanks for sharing this. The book theme on the Mom’s insanity seems like an interesting topic and truly explains her irrational behaviour towards her son. She is an extremist and in an cult group. But like you say, such theme will be tricky to be shown on c drama, so business agenda seems to make sense here. But it watered down her insanity and on why she hates ML so much.

Yes Evie dear, hope the misunderstanding resolved soon. I didn’t read the novel, but read some comments that mentioned ML’s mom may have a part to play involving FL’s mom death. So u hope they pull through these challenges. The angst come too quickly.😓😓😓. Like you say, make them romantic again😘

This is probably the upcoming ep 15 onwards, she is upset that JingYu is not telling her about his secrets. He is not telling because he wants to protect her. I do hope this arc of misunderstanding don’t last too long.

I read that the director put in quite a bit of effort to find songwriters and singers for this drama, to create the atmosphere he wants. The whole production team are fans of the original Webtoon series.
