An unpopular opinion, a part of me wants to see this couple romance, grow together and over come difficulties together, but I really don’t wish to see Lan Xiang becoming his wife as that really is not the theme of this story. As I thought this story is about empowering women, breaking slavery and their roles as someone’s wife in order to be powerful, the theme of strength in feminism will be lost in this society….perhaps I like the other drama with similar themes, with better balance.

I feel that she is a quiet observant and very sensible…I am sure in upcoming ep. she will save her second sister from making a grave mistake. I also feel she is a more suitable match to the Marquis with a child.
The second sister is just spoilt and loud with little realisation of situation.

Yes this arc has lots of subtle hints that they are fighting with the Japanese side n those times,like Lu Dalang’s feet, how he kill himself, the obsession with cotton…

Even though viewers may say this story seems familiar like many other dramas…however the big difference is that this drama has good actors and actresses that portray the characters well and believable, making the story interesting.
