Just a thought, so the relics will choose their victims to cling on and take control, manipulate them to kill, and will discard them when the relics consider useless victims, but cling on to the stronger one and made them their personal killing machine with brains like that creepy man from first case and Mu Dai’s mom. This part really feels like J anime ‘parasites’, only the strong one will be selected to lead.

And furthermore most adaptation bound to have changes, so best not to hold on to too many comparison. I am totally with you, too many spoilers, spoils the experience of watching enjoyment😓. Now you mentioned, feels like a plothole. I thought the mom found the amber first then, it’s fragment was broken up, and when she dies, the relic took over her body and made her alive. Wasn’t sure the people in the pit was killed by the relics though. I thought it was after the mother change then she goes around killing people and hence the bones were in the relics😅. I am confused.

The relics is embeded in the amber, Lian Shu’s mom found the amber, broke it into three pieces, Mom kept one fragment, Savage was given one fragment and Lian Shu kept one. Not sure what’s the time line of possession as it wasn’t very clear.

If you reach ep 14-15, it will be explained.

Novel reader mentioned it’s not fully shown here yet. Apparently the third personality is the smart one who will balance between the white and dark Mu Dai. It was briefly mentioned by her doctor and was also the resilience personality that got her over her trauma 6 years ago.
