For me it was Go East. The story and esp the FL were really quite disappointing. It was probably due to coming…
Thatâs true for me. However as I went in without expectation so disappointment wasnât too bad for me. Just thought the show has great potential wasted.
Peace and love indeed! I normally forgets about drama that is disappointing. lol! But to think of it, I just finished…
Yup, if you ignore the pretext of S1, S2 on its own is interesting as the script tried to have more focus on the background info of each cases, the perpetrators and victims. I do agreed that some of the stories were really sad. But my disappointment was more on Shen Yi and Du Cheng, their charactersâ arc were different. They made SY so god-like here, hahahah, expert in almost everything and the story of the last arc lacks scientific research, but again thatâs meâŠHahhaha. Too critical on these details. Enjoy! Itâs really not so bad as a crime drama.
Q26"The End of the Year Drama Challenge is back for its fifth year! This is the 2024 edition with new and old…
Peace and love indeed! I normally forgets about drama that is disappointing. lol! But to think of it, I just finished âUnder the Skinâ 2, and was disappointed at this season, the script, the charactersâ presentation and ending. I was disappointed at Rings of Power as I am a fan of Tolkienâs original series. Just personal opinion.;)
So the final arc is about DNA manipulation. Itâs never going to be ethical as the experiment itself can never…
AhâŠthatâs possible. And the ending set up was DC telling SY that he is able to handle himself and Jiang Feng is also matured enough to take on more responsibility. But I also wonder is there even a need for season 3.đ
I understand that this season, the script is expanding boundaries on SYâs skill set, however I would have wish the storytelling can have more depth in connecting SYâs growth. The first few cases were good then it just lost its momentum. Personally I preferred the tension and suspense and the underlying arc in season 1, where you see a break through in the main leadsâ character. I do appreciate the strong emotionally charged story in each case, and seeing TJCâs acting being stretch for season 2 is very an entertaining.
Finally I finished the last few epâŠspoiler below, ranting and sharing some thoughts.
So the final arc is about DNA manipulation. Itâs never going to be ethical as the experiment itself can never be fully harmless. Furthermore human existence is filled with anomaly and external factors that canât be control. One can never create a perfect human being. So in the beginning Fangâs understanding is already flawed as human is not just a ball of DNA, it will interacts with environment and evolved. Interesting exploration but the story telling was superficial and the theme is over kill, forcefully creating an association and correlation between SYâs passion to draw and Fangâs intention to create new species.
Secondly, I understand DCâs concern, he doesnât want SY to be too obsessed and lost himself in exploring criminalsâ mind. As SY has also been doing investigation on his own without consulting DC which can be dangerous. So he asked him to go for a break. But the conflict between them felt forced and overplayed. Itâs good that the arc ended with SY realizing himself and growth through Fangâs case. Their story should just stop at 38mins, where Fangâs case closed, DC and SY has an understanding of each other working relationship and friendship. But here we have the director trying to create a season 3 with a cliffhanger ending of SYâs twin???, with SYâs old hairstyle, stabbing DC. Why???!!! I wish they donât do this.
