Yup, the veteran actor is pretty good and fits into every role he played.

It’s like watching a Japanese anime / manga.

Not sure whether JOL 3 will come out in 2025, but definitely anticpating that too.

Also anticpating that drama, Liu YuNing and Li YiTong.

I am excited about this one too. I am also looking forward to XiXi’s Shui Ling Long.

ah, since you mentioned. I took a closer look, he does looks like a young version of Jing Boran.

Saw its exhibition a couple of years ago in Hong Kong Gu Gong. Very impressive drawings. China artist, Zhang ZeDuan is so talented!

It’s a nice touch to show how the story comes one round and ended ZBY having the trail as a theatre show. It also gave strengths on the underlying theme of being justice via common people as audience being the verdict. Zou is just one of many corrupted and unscrupulous official which many can be like that, however the strengths of this story is how ZBY draws the connection through investigation and family/friends’ support and brought justice to light. What a happy ending. He Huan is just misguided and heart filled with revenge, if he had met ZBY’s family, he may turn out so different, and maintain his kind heart as Su Zheng, sadly. ZBY’s father is so adorable, now we also knew the mystery of why he kept being mistaken by other official. Lastly the artist was just fantastic, in Song time his talents are amazing!

I finished the last few ep. What a satisfactory ending. Nicely wrapped up. We must give the credit to Zhang ZeDuan, the artist that drew the Riverside Code that inspired this story. But kudos to the team to tell such a great story with good casts. Most enjoyable.

I assumed if they want to do, there can be more stories to speculate from the drawings and partly I am okay with this ending as it’s a closure. Normally a season 2 if done by the same team, would it creates the same effect of consistent storyline;).

28. More original solid script with good characters’ development, strong leads with their strengths and growth arc and good satisfactory ending. I never mind SE or OE, but story telling has to be coherent and make sense. For 2024, I see too many angst for the sake of angst and SE or OE for the sake of trend. Watching a satisfactory drama beats any big budget effect for me. Like recently watching the ‘Riverside code’, good storyline, strong leads, good Wu Xia and fantastic acting by veteran and young actors. It can be done properly that doesn’t requires big budge, but what it needs is more effort and a heart to tell a good story…hahahah. Ranting over experience of 2024 drama watching.
