This drama feels like it’s inspired by Hong Kong gangster drama, 2 gangs and the police…I feel bad for the police who marries the gangster’s daughter, so tough for him.
Wow, apart from Christopher Nolan’s movie Interstellar, k drama is probably the first doing a love story in space. I am impressed, going to keep a look out for this.
Can anyone explain Noh In-Ji’s attachment to her old apartment and the last guy she married Do ha? Why was she…
IMO, Noh In-Ji has difficulties of letting go and moving on. She felt abandoned by her previous relationships. The drama is showing how FL has unhealthy coping of her loss and grief, she is stuck and traumatized hence she agreed to take up jobs to be contract wife for others.
If you look at this show from a moral perspective lens, one will find that it’s over glorifying affairs. The fact is they are both cheating on their spouses. The ML’s behaviour is also similar to that older commander who was trying to take advantage of the FL during the dance, while the only difference is he is charming and FL also likes him. But if one look at this story from the ML’s trauma, loneliness and re-discovering sparks in his love obsession as his dysfunctional way of coping his PTSD, then you may empathize with his obsession. But this is ultimately not a right way for him to cope. It’s similar to war veterans who turn alcoholic after the war. His ending is also so poetically sad, living at that difficult time, fought war for his country, a celebrated war hero but yet he was unable to celebrate his wins as he suffered from PTSD, and suffered, not being understand. And yet he was punished to a death ending back to war for his moment of desire to live in distorted love. It’s really sad story. I wrote a review with more detailed thoughts, it’s a 8/10 for me.
Finally caught up with this. I have always like ML since Autumn Tales and Summer Scent, always find him a charming, romantic lover with great chemistry with any FL. And this was indeed a very sweet rom-com and I am surprised by the good story telling. Although ML’s portrayal of a psychiatrist is unrealistic and filled with plotholes and rather unethical practice as a psychiatrist. But all is forgiven as this is a ROM-Com. The Ex were just beyond obsessional and crazy. It is definitely and over dramatic representation of mental illness. However I really like this strong FL’s character, she is strong will and courageous. Enjoy how their love story bonded from being a food lover, to no string attached and learning to connect and heal their hearts, letting go of their past. If you are looking for a sweet series with good CP chemistry, this is definitely a sweet dessert to try. Glad I picked this up.
Oh, I should correct myself, I watched a movie on tea ceremony, a Japanese movie released in 2018, titled “Everyday is a good day.” And a recent c drama briefly mentioned of tea business in the plot, “ Love in Nirvana”. And almost forgotten a 2022, c drama, FL is Crystal Liu, titled “A dream of Splendor”, pretty good one, FL operates a tea house.
If you like mature love, good storyline and fantastic acting, this is definitely a must watch. We have two broken couples entanglement with 2 other additional men with a trunk mystery. Don’t be bothered by the ratings as this type of drama which explore realism and lack young popular actors won’t invite high ratings. IMO, this is so much better than a lot of other high rating dramas shown recently.
Okay here is my PERSONAL take. Before I start my real review let me say this isn’t the worst ending I seen on…
Well written review. I like this drama too, some very realistic portrayal and both ML and FL acted so natural and well. I truly enjoyed this drama too. Their love is beautiful, four broken people find their own reconciliation and love.
This is pretty entertaining. I always enjoyed watching Seven’s performance, she is versatile and natural. I haven’t see Zhang Ye Cheng for a long while, glad he is back. Of recent I seen tea trade, F and B, jewelry, jade business and now we get to learn about fabric and dye business…interesting.
I wrote a review with more detailed thoughts, it’s a 8/10 for me.
