Yeah, the drama made the Emperor shown more fatherly concern, even though he is still egoistic and selfish, there are tiny bits of concern shown for FX, which is different for novel. Which I feel is a nice touch. FX is also not so invincible and know it all here, which makes him more real.

I finally caught up and finished ep 36, so it ended???!!! How come I feel that there should be more ep tomorrow😅. So now starts our waiting game for S3, hopefully in next 2 years. 😅
So far I love the treatment, re-written script done for S2, it’s coherent and make sense for the development of all the characters, It’s nice that they shown FX’s vulnerabilities and Emperor’s tiny fatherly side. Of course this season is different from S1, as it’s not world building but journeying. S2 is about FX finding his meaning, making choices for himself and gaining his ally and direction, step by step. The problem solving, the more poltics and mind games are exhilarating to watch. Let’s wait patiently, till next season;)

Ep 33, when FX confide to Ruo Ruo, that’s his true fears and feelings about Emperor as his father.

My take: Shadow knew FX is not easily poison so doing that will just make the assignation more realistic but he didn’t expect FX has a messed up Qi while fighting that worsen the poison spread.
I agreed that how come Wu Zhu didn’t sense anything wrong with the carriage, he would have know.

Fei Jie is as smart as CPP and he does know a lot. So all these set up by Emperor is to get rid of Wu Zhu. The fight scene is so cool and nicely choreographed.
