You didnât miss anything, itâs intentional that this drama never show his 4th disciple, but we as audience all knew his presence. There was also no actor cast for the 4th person. Many speculation of this director intention was to make us, the viewers as the 4th discipleâŠlol! Not sure whether that theory is correct.;)
Did anyone notice that the past few ep., the Emperor bothers to clean up his look and wear more proper clothes? I can relate with you. The Black Knights in the novel has always been fearless bunch and honorable to their code of practice. Although that scene was meant to lighten the mood and comedy, I also find it overdone and unnecessary. I like Jing Ge in the book. I am learning to accept the changes for this drama as a screen writers way to balance a lot more humour in between scenes, but the key is a right balance.

They are a bunch of silly people that always hide from all troubles. So a couple ep ago, it was openly in the court house where FX was seen instigating Lord Lai to take up the investigation case, so his staff probably felt that if Lord Lai didnât take up the case, he wouldnât die. Which is also why FX felt guilty on directly causing his death.
