Yes, the Imperial Coroner is one of my all time favourite too. Then you must definitely try Myterious case of lotus book. That drama has better directing and pacing is better, there three brothers there, pretty fun to see their dynamic. CDL is there too, she is everywhere now🤣.

She doesn’t really get better even at ep 22, still can be very irritating. Think this kind of character is less hateful if it’s a male actor but when it’s a female actor acting this role, just felt that how did she survive so far and she is suppose to be street smart? Just thought it’s a character design issue here.

Ep 20. His character is more fun.

The ML is good, the cases are not very captivating and how every case is solved as you point out, not very exciting. I feel that it’s the director way of storytelling. The strange Tale of Tang is better, if you have watch that one. Yeah one of the attendant is just such a spoilt brat😅. The most recent ep 20-22 have Zhang Rou Yun, his character is grey and rather interesting. The ep with Chen DuLing is also boring, she just acted her usual sad face, probably because the character wasn’t very in-depth hence I can’t connect and not much challenge in her acting. Sometimes after stimulating drama, can be quite hard to pick up a slower pace one🤣. I am just watching as I like investigation cases, and also not much going on so far.;)

This is a little out of context but thinking the latest ep tells so much on how young people can be coerced to join gangs and terrorist groups. Revenge, injustice, inequality and power driven ideas.
Zhang RouYun as usual delivered his role well, however I wonder what happened to his case, wasn’t he killed by Di Renjie, so accidental kill has no punishment?
The wrapped up of the case in ep 21 was concluded so quickly, how did the kid suddenly turn around and trust what Di said? The villian was killed by stray dogs. And the dogs only choose to bite the bad guys, saw ZRN’s body seems unharmed in the end😅.

I dropped Tiger &Crane. Just not my cup of tea. I am likely dropping this one too. I can accept Donghua adaptation, however it has to be coherent and consistent in the presentation. This drama tone is comedy, yet they tried to be too serious, so lost me there🤷🏻‍♀️

I thought it was comedy😅 But it’s more on the scale of silliness.

I felt the same on the slapstick humour, just didn’t feel in aligned with some of the serious moment. The time and editing a bit off for me, but shall watch a few more to decide.

Ah…that explained the reference to Donghua in some scenes. Donghua in live action needs a delicate balance. I actually ffwd the slapstick humor, personally find myself disconnected from the story and find the humor silly. Maybe shall watch it with a less serious mindset. lol!

Ah…I see. And the ML is a cat, so that’s going to be a weird story spinner off from here. I am not getting the tone of this drama yet, it seems lacks balance between the seriousness and comedy. There are some comedy scenes feels a little draggy and then it’s serious scene came across at odd timing. Going to watch more to see how it turns out.

Yup Miles seems to be set up as villian. The second ML is Chen Shi? His character is quite silly, wonder why he is written this way. There is so many side kicks, don’t really know who is SML now. lol!
