Hi Cynthia, Yes! The ending was fantastic. I read your review, it’s good, factual and represented the gist of this drama. I haven’t get to writing the reviews as there were so many areas I want to cover but feel that I won’t be able to give justice in my writing. lol! The second and third CPs chemistry came as a surprise to me, didn’t expect that, it was well written script and the casts all done so well here. I have seen Karlina’s other show, always like her sassy character. It’s my first drama with Gao ZhiTing, but from now, will definitely check out his other dramas. It’s over. 😓 I am going to miss this drama a lot. Nice warm ending, it’s such a feel good drama and the stories are all well-written and realistic. The last two ep had me teary and then filled with joy and sweetness. Kudos! to the team! Hopefully this drama will have good sub. soon and more international audience can see this.
More revealed today at ep23, some of my guesses were right and some were misguided by earlier plot…spoiler below.

He disguised as CY’s father in the game to make their relationship worsen. So my guess was right that Uncle Lin is actually CY’s father but trapped in the body, yet to be explained how he got trapped. A common C drama troupe is to use the lack of communication or refused to communicate their misunderstanding. If Uncle Lin talks to CY/GX earlier, maybe somethings can be avoided and they won’t be manipulated. The frustration of this ep was we feel if the leads have spoken to each other earlier, many things can be avoided. But that’s how the plot is. And now we have Uncle Lin also in coma? or dead? I am back to wondering so what’s Boss Yan’s intention again?

He couldn’t as the design of the game rule by CY’s father is that everyone who entered the game, has to complete all levels then can they all exit the game. The two evil bosses also don’t know how to exit half way, hence probably the reason that they are looking for CY’s father.

Don’t think she knows how to kill him yet. I have a theory that maybe Lao Lim is actually CY’s father, but somehow when he developed this game, his sub-consciousness maybe fuse with AI, is stuck in the game. And Somehow CY’s father manages to download his real version into Lao Lin’s body, hence he mentioned he hates himself and he seems to be exceptional close to CY now and want to repent. But just a theory, let’s see.

That’s my theory too! Feels that the AI plot here and taken over CY’s father consciousness. So her father somehow downloaded himself into Lao Lin’s body. But that’s still a theory, we shall see.

So far, here is the plot… Based on the latest reveal, the bad guy is actually CY’s father. He is now unconscious and manage to download his consciousness into a drive and in the game. So he set up the secrecy between GX and CY because he wants CY to learn not to trust anyone. His reason is he believe CY being his daughter has potential to overcome human emotions and don’t need others. He developed this game because even though he has wife and daughter, he often feels lonely and felt no one understand him. Then he developed the game with his partner, boss Yan; and discovered his potential so he wants CY to be like him. Reminds me of that movie by Johnny Depp, ‘Transcendence’ .

CY’s character design became quite inconsistent. The writer drags on her trauma and mistrust yet doesn’t really give her a growth arc, just swings from suspicion to illogical behaviour. She is smart and intelligent, and in the game proven she can make good decision yet her response sometime just don’t make sense. Since you haven’t watch, won’t do spoiler, but hopefully the wrap up won’t be rush and messy.
I don’t know what to make out of the recent ep21 and 22, it’s about CY confronting her fears, and some parts about FL’s past has become a little draggy and repetitive. I wonder why it’s so difficult for FL to call out who she hates. CY again gets suspicious with GX. We know now who is the ‘bad’ guy in the game. However the purpose or intention of the bad guy who design this game feels a little lame. He seems to be portrayed as narcissistic and wants CY to be like him, however there is something odd about this plot. And Uncle Lin’s motive is still unclear. I am feeling the possibility of Uncle Lim being CY’s father is high, he looks too familiar to CY’s granny and he talks about rescuing his daughter. I wonder is there is an underlying AI messing here?
Its a slice of life type of drama, however the story is not as dramatic as ‘Meet Yourself’, slightly simpler plot but still touching, well written and therapeutic to follow. The ML’s main business is in wedding and funeral, hence there are some good stories about dealing with marriage and death. The main CP story line is about FL’s growth and discovering love. The chemistry of the two leads were strong and the 2 other side CPs were also great to watch, however it’s slow burnt, so they will all only get together in later part of the drama, but the progression is realistic and captivating.
