Mr. Sunshine is an exceptional drama — beautifully written, visually stunning, and emotionally profound. It tells a deeply moving story set against a complex period in Korean history, blending romance, patriotism, and tragedy with masterful storytelling. Kim Tae-ri’s performance in it is truly unforgettable. She portrays her character with such strength, grace, and emotional depth that you can’t help but be captivated every time she’s on screen. Her ability to balance a sense of innocence with determination gives her role incredible authenticity. She doesn’t just play the character — she becomes her, making every line and look resonate with meaning. The chemistry between her and the rest of the cast, especially the way she expresses quiet defiance and heartfelt conviction, is one of the highlights of the entire series. It’s one of those rare performances that stays with you long after the final episode.
I can’t believe I waited this long to watch this… and at the same time, I’m so grateful to my past self because I’m experiencing it now for the first time.
what is the setting of this ? i've never wach this? may i know? anyone?
This is late but, Encantadia is an enchanted realm where magical beings live. It's four major territories have their own specialties and each keep one of the 4 gems.
The setting is like wuxia with 4 major sects and their elements of cultivation (fire, water, wood, etc) and a powerful weapon that was divided to 4 for the sects to keep for peace and balance. Except they don't exist in the same place with humans. The human realm (modern world) is different and can only be accessed by a portal.
Lireo where fairies live, keeps the gem of air. Sapiro where healers live, keeps the gem of earth. Hathoria where blacksmiths live, keeps the gem of fire. And Adamya where hobbit-like creatures live, keeps the gem of water.
It was peaceful at first, until Hathoria wanted all the gemstones for themselves. War happened. So the rest of the gemstones were taken to Lireo for safekeeping. The queen appointed each of her daughters as keepers of the gemstones. Those 4 are the mains/fls of this fantasy drama.
The plot begins when the 1st princess (fire) rebels because the queen chose the 2nd princess (air) as the successor instead of her. And other arcs like the 2nd princess (air) and 3rd princess (water) falling for the same guy, etc. Basically the sisters having a falling out and if/how they'll come together again while everyone fights for power.
This is a requel (remake and sequel) of the 2005 original, with the same director and writer.
wish it has a more satifying ending compare to the kdrama
I hope they keep the tragic ending. Makes it more impactful, also the kdrama one actually toned it down quite a bit. The Chinese drama and the original novel is even more tragic and cruel. If they are following the original Chinese drama and novel, expect to cry buckets.
The kdrama version was good, but I pick the Chinese one over the kdrama, mostly because of how well they built up all the prince characters and delve deeper into their love interest. Hence making the tragedy even more tragic.

Do we have an official-official confirmation on which Prince everyone is playing? I don't mean their names, that…
The only official confirmation is 4th and 8th, the other character are speculations from the trailer. Agree with you about Fourth and Phuwin. I bet on Perth 10th, Force 9th and Tay Crown Prince. GMMTV officially stated that this will be based on Chinese original 2005 novel ( and the 2011 revision) so Chinese original 2011 drama, even though adapted in Thai history. I am preparing a long post about historical period based on Thai people accounts because I asked to a few people about it.
i hope the promo isn't a boys only party like f4. no offence to the rest of the boys but it felt like they were promoted more as a group rather than the female lead who the story revolves around. i hope all the girls in the cast get to promote together and equally rather than just the male leads doing it
They were both good people, but Abang was a gentle soul, he gave up his future for his brother, and his brother used the chance wisely. Abang's monologue with the monk made me cry so much, he was suffering so much, and right when he started to feel alive again, it was over... Yes, both played a part in the murder, but Adik played the big part of it, it wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for him! Also, if they called an ambulance while she was still alive, she probably could've been saved, they would go to prison, but at least they wouldn't have the death penalty! Obviously i can still understand their actions in the moment, I'm just imagining if things could be different...
the moment they hugged each other at Money's birthday celebration, i just knew one of them would die 😭 my instinct was right. and i teared up twice in this movie. the first one during Abang's vulnerable talk with the monk in prison. and the second time when Abang asked Ah Di "can we do this (cracking eggs on each other's forehead) one last time?". it's too sad. probably the most depressing one i've watched this year.

I was routing for er Lang and Li lan from the first time they met even though I thought tian Bai was the pair to li lan 😂 but thank God Erlang and li lan ended up together
