People, please remember that fiction is fiction. You can hold morals that fictional characters don’t, and you…
I agree with you. I usually can seperate them, I said I liked red flags, didn’t I. In this case though, it’s rubbing me the wrong way. See, I am actually interested in the second couple and the alpha there is clearly also a toxic person (but I somehow find him more redeemable). I am unsure, but maybe the difference about this show and those you mentioned like Dexter, GOT, You and THT is that I don’t feel like the show is trying to make me like them. They are clearly unapologeticly problematic. In this I feel like the show is trying to pass his actions as loving and trying to convince me that as long as its for love its ok. Its making me unable to support them, as in I would be glad if they ended up broken up, which defeats the purpose of a romance drama, no? I don’t know, it’s the best I can describe it I guess.
I understand the hype because we haven’t seen much like this till now, but I might drop this. I really dislike…
Impersonating a SA victim to gain sympathy is so messed up. That kinda crossed a line for me. And his self satisfied grins each time he manages to fool the person he supposedly loves. Not really my taste of love.
I understand the hype because we haven’t seen much like this till now, but I might drop this. I really dislike Hua Yong and I don’t see this changing much. He is so deceptive to the point of being cruel. I usually like my red flags but I am really struggling with him.
Malicious? You think if he doesn't tailored himself the way Shaoyou like his partner, will he got that chance…
I will be honest, I have not read your comment other than a few lines to avoid spoilers. I have not read the book. This is the impression I have gotten from these first few episodes. There very well may be a reason for his actions, but it still doesn’t make it ok to deceive the person you supposedly love in this manner. So what if he gets dumped, that would be his partners right, wouldn’t it? Free will and all that. From the few episodes I have watched, he doesn’t seem like a weak person, quite the opposite he is very powerful, rich and has an entire organization behind him. So were is the danger and need to hide himself? As I said, I don’t know what is coming or if there is more behind his actions that will change my mind. But for now it feels very wrong.
I am feeling torn about this. I can normally like a red flag, but in this case I am having a really hard time with Hua Yong. I know manipulation is nothing new, but in this it fees so ill-intentioned, almost malicious. And it doesn’t stop once they get together, it goes on and on. I only see obsession, no care. Why would you want the “love of your life” to fall for a version of you that doesnt exist. How do you come back from such betrayal?
I am on episode 16 and Zhang Ling He is barely in it. I feels like any other cast member has more screen time then him. Although he is supposed to be a main character it feels more like a guest role, not even supporting cast. Does this get better?
You’d be surprised how many doctors have no clue about periods. Unless they are gynos, the last time they are…
I am not saying this is right, I too think it should be more normalized to know about periods. But in most of places in this world, periods are still taboo and an uncomfortable subject. So if you don’t actively try to remember it, than of course you wouldn’t retain that kind of information after learning it a decade ago. I don’t remember half the stuff I learned in school either. (again, I don’t think it’s right, considering it concerns half the population on a monthly basis)
yes, love triangle will be resolved .... liked the way how the ML stood up for FL at a team dinner .... don't…
Hi, thanks for your reply. I did power through this drama, but if I am being honest it was a disappointment for me. I skipped too much bc I got bored or annoyed at the characters. I did like XZ acting though. I ended up liking their interactions in the epilogue way more than the actual drama, it seamed more real. The sometimes nonsensical script and overall pacing was off for me.
This is the of kind plot that drives me mad... Misunderstanfding or 15 plus episode no thank you plus the ending…
Thats why I am never watching TTEOTM, I just know it is riddled with misunderstandings and they constantly betray each other. I like my red flags more of the “touch her and die” variety and not “i hate her and want to inflict pain on her”
I dunno what to tell you. I mean I finished it … it was more because I had followed it so long vs looking forward…
hi, thanks for your response. I usually like revenge dramas, I loved The Double and The Glory kdrama, but this is kind of disappointing me tbh. I found it kind of dumb not to predict what would happen after the mother left, given that she already knew how ruthless her father is.. if not her, than her mother/mothers old flame or even the “brilliant” strategist male lead should have predicted it
So, I am on Ep20 and debating if I should drop this. I seem to not be able to connect with the characters. I do like morally gray/ red flag characters but more if it is directed towards others, not when they harm each other. But these two keep betraying each other. The acting of the older cast is brilliant but the main couple feels off. Either there is no emotion or it didn’t match the mood (like smiling at weird moments). Also I repeatedly thought that they were too easily fooled, by others or each other. I was like “come on, did you really fall for that?” (not so great at strategy as tgey try to look)I don’t know, maybe I should give up? Is it at least a satisfying/ happy ending or am I wasting my time?
lmao he's a doctor but knows nothing about periods?
You’d be surprised how many doctors have no clue about periods. Unless they are gynos, the last time they are exposed to that info is in med school. And even then I don’t believe there is much time dedicated to it.
Ok, so I am skipping a lot I think, almost all the scenes with the best friend ( can’t stand her) and I arrived at the love triangle part and it’s annoying me pretty hard. Does it go on for a long time or is it resolved in a couple of episodes? I am considering dropping this, but a lot of people like it and it would be a shame if I give up before it gets good. Should I push through?

Wasn’t a fan of the non consensual kissing in ep 2 either…
