I actually really liked this for the romance. This couple was SO sweet. I also appreciate how they cleaned up a lot of the controversial things like the maestro being a pervert/creep. They also gave the drummer adorable poodle hair. But I do agree that editing is a bit sloppy, especially when it came to performances and playing of instruments. Tbh, this is nothing new for cdramas though so it didn't really phase me. The OST actually grew on me by the end and I liked the stripped down versions of some of the songs.
I mostly don't like remakes. In a way, I feel like nothing can beat the original. I also feel like Chinese remakes change too many things and often make the romances too fluffy or too youthful/cute (I'm not sure how to describe it). I think the only decent Chinese remake I've seen so far was the loose adaptation of the American show Suits (The Best Partner), but I had to treat it as a separate drama when watching since it's also very different. Fans of the original show were disappointed with it though. The Prince Turns to Frog remake wasn't that bad for me and I think it's because they stuck closely with the original. I haven't seen the Fated to Love You remake yet, but I've heard good things. :)
