After seeing the trailer, I'm kind of pretty excited. Looking forward to seeing Zhao Lu Si with Lin Shen. I usually don't like age gap, but this one should be refreshing...plus I'm a fan of the movie.

The cat was the best thing about this remake. Needless to say, the original is better. I actually didn't mind the actors that much. I thought they did a decent job. They were young though, and it showed (especially when it came to the kisses).

It took me 20 episodes to get into Eternal Love, but it was totally worth it for me. Was there infidelity? I don't really remember. Things got so much better once they left the mortal realm.

Most people said Forest was disappointing or not worth watching, so maybe that's something you can considering dropping or skipping to the last 2 episodes (just to see how it ends). DotS was mainly good for the bromance and comedy. I wasn't really feeling the romance. Pinocchio was okay, but if you're finding it too painful or depressing then you might as well drop it. Most people hyped it up cuz of LJS.

Awesome article and great points! For me, hype makes a drama more entertaining if we're watching it at the same time. However, I always try to warn people to lower their expectations because it makes them start the drama with high expectations. I just get annoyed when hype drives the rating up because I do not associate popularity/hype with a high rating.

I feel like I'm a more neutral rater compared to the both you. xD Sometimes I'm a Minarii, sometimes I'm a Jeana. :P I probably lean more toward Jeana's opinions, but for the romantic comedies, I'm more likely to agree with Minarii (except maybe for Suspicious Partner which I thought was meh). This was a fun read and nice to see different opinions. :)

Also Jeana had me dying when she said, "The girl could run like an ostrich even in six-inch heels, and you gotta respect that." xD

I just started watching but a guy who thinks he is funny when he actually tells bad jokes and a girl who laughs…
It's so cute how she laughs at his lame jokes. xD ♥

Great article! I tend to go the Adding Fuel route when I'm angry. This was what hate watches are also good for. I purposely will pick out trashy dramas I can hate on with characters I can yell and throw things at. It helps with getting all that anger out of my system. Then, I'll go for a Dimming the Fire drama to cool down and become happy again.

Honestly I only watch GMM because they're not as long but also I can watch actors who aren't tied down to one…
I've seen very few CH5 titles. Usually CH3 or CH7 lakorns get subbed. At one point subbers were reluctant to sub CH3 lakorns because they kept getting taken down/accounts getting banned due to copyright issues (CH3 was very aggressive about pursuing copyright issues), so some subbers switched over to subbing CH7 shows and I guess that's also when a couple of CH5 lakorns were given a chance to get subbed. I never really noticed them before that tbh.

I usually associate lakorns as the more dramatic soap opera like stuff. One of the ways to tell them apart is by the network they air on. CH3, CH5, CH7 = lakorn (typically). GMM is mostly series, but they also do lakorn. It's a mix.

Facebook Groups are another source to watch subbed dramas. Some subbing teams will upload/share their post to the group.

This is not a romance, so no kissing. The main characters have a mentor/mentee relationship.
Yeah, it was interesting. A lot of it focused on mediation between two parties. I think one case was about law reform.

It's a low budget webdrama made by somewhat amateurs. You get what you expect. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think I'd have more fun making fun of it than watching it by myself, but there aren't enough timed comments yet for it to be amusing.

The backing against the wall thing is called kabedon. It is a Japanese term. From my experience, a ton of people are into it though. :P

glamorous drop list that I'm pretending I'll get back to watching one day < relatable. Had that problem. And then…
Haha, I need to clean it up, but these days it's for waiting on subs (slow fansubbers but still active projects) or variety shows.

I used to give dramas a 6 episode chance (or 1/4th of series), but these days I'm getting better at predicting if a drama will be mediocre and the plot trajectory judging from the first episode so I'm better at dropping. I HATE dropping because i NEED to know the ending. I've resorted to just skipping to the last couple of episodes to find out how it ends and then drop. That way I feel less guilty about dropping it. Then there's my On Hold list....which is really just a glamorous drop list that I'm pretending I'll get back to watching one day.
