glamorous drop list that I'm pretending I'll get back to watching one day < relatable. Had that problem. And then…
Haha, I need to clean it up, but these days it's for waiting on subs (slow fansubbers but still active projects) or variety shows.

I used to give dramas a 6 episode chance (or 1/4th of series), but these days I'm getting better at predicting if a drama will be mediocre and the plot trajectory judging from the first episode so I'm better at dropping. I HATE dropping because i NEED to know the ending. I've resorted to just skipping to the last couple of episodes to find out how it ends and then drop. That way I feel less guilty about dropping it. Then there's my On Hold list....which is really just a glamorous drop list that I'm pretending I'll get back to watching one day.

Ah, yes. Aggressive product placement will be the bane of my existence. The language thing doesn't bother me because I do that a lot. It is not uncommon to slip in a word or two of another language while speaking, especially when certain sayings/expressions in other languages exactly capture how you're feeling. Or sometimes it's just more fun to switch it up and use another language just because.

I dislike forced romance too. I'm perfectly fine with dramas not having any romance at all, but unfortunately these days the audience kind of expects/demands it (we are shippers at heart). I've sort of settled when it comes to the fight against love triangles. I actually like them when there's no clear male lead...i.e. you don't know who she's going to end up with cuz there's a 50/50 chance. The Reply series is a good example of this.

is there a lot of kiss scene between male leads and female leads in this tv series ??also, so there is a law and…
This is not a romance, so no kissing. The main characters have a mentor/mentee relationship.

Idk if I started forwarding too much but did I miss something? Is FL upset that he performed with Song Ran? Wasn’t…
You probably figured it out already, but it's not just that he performed with Song Ran, it's the song that they performed together. That was the piece that she had selected to perform with him in the future. When she heard about the performance and it was that particular song, she was like "That was meant to be OUR song." It sort of felt like a betrayal.

The second half gets kind of draggy, but I loved it for the cats! Also, this is probably the most wholesome lakorn I've ever seen. No crazy villains, no backstabbing friends, and no antagonists. It's very fluffy, just like the cats. The romance does not follow the usual romance trajectory that you are probably used to and is probably more reverse harem.

okay but when will this Xiao Wo start practicing??? I'm at episode 16 and damn this girl keeps on crying and crying…
lol she's kind of supposed to be a genius so not until she's motivated to achieve greater heights...i'd say around ep 20-25. She has to be separated from Zhen Yan to focus.

Nobody is talking about the cute little animated scenes? Okay then...

I actually really liked this for the romance. This couple was SO sweet. I also appreciate how they cleaned up a lot of the controversial things like the maestro being a pervert/creep. They also gave the drummer adorable poodle hair. But I do agree that editing is a bit sloppy, especially when it came to performances and playing of instruments. Tbh, this is nothing new for cdramas though so it didn't really phase me. The OST actually grew on me by the end and I liked the stripped down versions of some of the songs.

A body swap where one of them is a pilot....I'm very curious how that will play out. You can't fake knowing how to fly a plane. O___O

Interesting theory you got there. I enjoyed the article. It was a fun read. Aside from the plot (my main reason for loving it), I personally enjoyed the drama for the bromance and camaraderie, which boybands are also known to have between members or at least they are marketed as such. I know they downplayed the romance as friendship, which is unfortunate. However, that friendship was the best. There are also many cases of fujoshi fans shipping members together and, as @Luly stated below, being flirty for "fanservice" has been profitable. I'm pretty sure the scheming psychopath would be an exclusion to this though.

Loved the FL and main couple, but it got too political and cliche in the middle and they waited until the last 2 episodes to clear things up. I don't mind politics, but the politics in this was just super cliche and draggy.

Is it a good idea to watch Tientsin Mystic 1 and 2 back to back? Just wondering if I will be disappointed like Ever Night 2 or if I should take a break in between.
