I dislike forced romance too. I'm perfectly fine with dramas not having any romance at all, but unfortunately these days the audience kind of expects/demands it (we are shippers at heart). I've sort of settled when it comes to the fight against love triangles. I actually like them when there's no clear male lead...i.e. you don't know who she's going to end up with cuz there's a 50/50 chance. The Reply series is a good example of this.
I actually really liked this for the romance. This couple was SO sweet. I also appreciate how they cleaned up a lot of the controversial things like the maestro being a pervert/creep. They also gave the drummer adorable poodle hair. But I do agree that editing is a bit sloppy, especially when it came to performances and playing of instruments. Tbh, this is nothing new for cdramas though so it didn't really phase me. The OST actually grew on me by the end and I liked the stripped down versions of some of the songs.
