I definitely prefer my BLs to have action with a little darkness and grit. I get disappointed when a good action-packed BL like The Bangkok Boy doesn't get the viewership it deserves. Which then worries me if these BLs don't get viewers, that production companies will stop creating these niche content BLs let alone a Season 2.

The information I am providing is not supported by evidence, proof, or facts but I heard that Aon Akadech Jaroonsot (who was fantastic as the villain Aim) was asked about season 2 and he said it wasn't looking good for a Season 2 as far as he knew. The reception in Thailand wasn't what they hoped, and that's where most of their funding came from for the first season.
Now I hope this rumor is complete rubbish because I desperately want a Season 2. I often check for updates. There is nothing. The silence is disheartening. 😪 If anyone knows anything else (hello, WeTv and GagaOOLaLa, I'm talking to you!!) Good or bad news -- PLEASE LET US KNOW! Thank you.

If YouTube has the above running times, then you would be watching the uncut version.

You're welcome. I noticed the MDL page for The Boy Next World: Uncut shows a duration time of 55 minutes. For the regular MDL page for the series, it shows a duration time of 43 minutes. These duration times are an average duration time because usually episode length are not the exact same.
I don't know why IQ didn't put uncut next to the title. They have done it in the past but not this time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If it is uncut, IQ makes the rating NC-17. Look for that in the future if you're watching a series on IQ and you want to know if it is uncut.

I am glad to hear that it's more "might" than "will" when it comes to no longer watching BL. Let's hope for more high-quality, BL storytelling in the future. Once a genre sacrifices quality for quantity, that is when it eventually loses popularity and viewership. I am afraid BL has gone down that road.

If Gelboys gets good viewership numbers, maybe that will help rejuvenate the genre and inspire other artists and production companies to create quality BLs. In return, savvy BL viewers like yourself that are thinking of moving on to something else, will stay. 🤞

iQIYI is the official streaming outlet showing the uncut version. Each uncut episode has a different running time. They are not all 55 minutes.

Wow!! The plot may seem goofy but the actors and entire production team pulled it off with charm and wit. Junior is probably one of the cutest BL characters of all time. He's cute but not in an irritating way. The holiday season always makes me sad and as I watched this over my winter break it brought me joy when I was feeling down. Thanks to all who brought this penguin, panther and the entire series to life!!
