I mean, I love this drama, but what's O Gyu Jang's motive for wanting Kang Da Wit's downfall? I really don't get…
In my opinion, O Gyu Jang might have been involved in Da Wit's mother's case, and knowing that Kang Da Wit climbed to his judge position to find out the truth, they want him removed. Plus, Da Wit is loved by the citizens and is someone who can't be controlled or easily manipulated. Hence, he planted a weakness in Da Wit.
Like the saying, 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer.' By keeping Da Wit under 'Oh & Partners Law Firm,' O Gyu Jang can easily control him as his superior. From what we see, the man isn't very pleased with his daughter's way of running the Law Firm either (i.e. introducing the Pro Bono team).

👏👏👏I couldn't agree more. They say it's the heaviest punishment for that crime, but I also thought, "What... only 7??" He not only neglected his workers' safety, but also tried to shush his subordinates and managers to keep quiet about the incident. That's just adding fuel to fire by trying to bury his crime. Due to that accident, Da Wit's mom eventually lost her life.
The choice of fantasy elements in this drama throw me off, I really wanted to watch it but it’s too unserious…

The three great demons (stone statues carved of them in the Demon Valley) were also "k1lled" during the war with the human tribe. The ginormous snake demon was also subdued/k1lled in the start of the story by Bing Zhu's Feiwu Guards...
Those are some of the reasons why stronger demons aren't shown~ Humans are seen as the bigger threat here...
