18 episodes in and although plot is not original all, it is quite enjoyable and addictive. Few dramas come to my mind when watching it, Legend of Fuyao the most. Main leads elevate the drama especially FL. Fighting scenes are quite good too!

I was excited watching it right until the middle but after finishing last episode I feel disappointed. Episode 23 is when I started getting annoyed by plot. Around that time some characters' motivation and actions became unreasonable. Main characters lost their sanity, some randoms from background suddenly everywhere giving commands. Pace of action in second half slowed dramatically and it felt too draggy to me. Finale was long and anticlimactic leaving many stories without proper closure.

True, there is very clear pattern in the beginning and somewhat repetitive. It bothered me a bit but didn't affect overall impression. I believe after 3rd case things improve and main plot takes bigger lead.
I don't want to troll many fans, just my opinion. There is really not much going on in episodes 2-10 before plot picks up towards the end. It took me quite an effort to finish the drama. Grim reaper and Sunny absolutely stole the show from main leads. Main romance is very weak, bromance is strong. I don't mind FL like some commenters below but suddenly thought that her friend from high school could be an interesting choice for the role. OST is hit and miss.
This drama is not perfect but still very good. I didn't see the plot twist coming so was pleasantly surprised. Cast is fantastic even in smaller roles. Music, costumes, plot are all great. Small length of season is also its advantage, things don't get dragged out too much and now I want to re-watch some parts again to see the clues.
For romantic comedy this drama has quite original plot. I enjoyed first half a lot but after childhood flashback finished, it turned into any other drama and lost some appeal. And without last 10-13 episodes this drama would be much better.

Put Your Head On My Shoulder has several similarities - unlikely people living in one property, cute actress and ML with wooden expressions lol. Go Go Squid is also good if you are looking for a bit more drama. High profile actors but plot didn't click with me as much.

Speaking of misssundersta dings, the main misunderstanding is still not resolved and will probably last for a while. That's why I love so much adaptations of Zhao Qian Qian.

I disagree - his character is often called genius and extremely handsome - I would say it is opposite of dull. ML from The love equations had similar talented antisocial character and managed to act much better. And about his individual appearance I found it very unremarkable.

Turn from comedy to drama in the last third is strange and has a lot of 'Ashes of Love's vibes. And I agree that FL does not look very attractive especially comparing to ML.
