No love triangle so far and we're up to ep 18. Three kisses scenes, but we didn't get into the good stuff yet because the couple just got together. ML and FL get together in ep 18.

Logically, a man who's 29/30 years old doesn't spend that much time socializing with a girl who's only 23 yo, unless he's interested in her. Even her own brother didn't spend so much time with her.
As for proof from the show: that episode where she decides to kiss him in order to move on from her unrequited crush? He closes his eyes. And he just sits there, waiting for her to make the move. Ultimately she couldn't go through with it, but he didn't attempt to push her away.
Additionally, the way he responded whenever Tang Yu warned him off? Suspicious as heck.
Which brings me to why neither of them moved forward, and why the attraction eventually fizzled out once they met other people: Tang Yu.
Episode 5 (starts at 30:47 time stamp on Viki). Right after Tang Yu hangs up from the phone call with his sister we see him going through old messages with Tang Xin on his phone-about her naming the cat, and reading her weibo posts where she discusses Director Lu taking over filming.

You definitely made some vaild points and I agree with you. If you scroll through here you'll see some of my earlier comments where I also say that the FL should do better and communicate clearly. I even pointed out that for such a level-headed person ( seen in the the way she responded in the first few days after his rejection, as well as to the plagiarism) I was disappointed in how she was treating the ML. Instead of blowing hot and cold, after seeing how he consistently goes all out to support her plus him saying plainly that he wants to pursue her, that she should've talking everything through with him properly. When we had that elevator scene and she bit the ML, my heart was breaking for him.
But her response to him reading those weibo posts showed me how deeply hurt she still was. It must have been a big shock to her to have him suddenly strip her bare that way. She didn't see it coming and you can see how deeply she was affected. I was happy it happened because he needed to know, and more importantly, him finding out acted as the catalyst to break down the barriers she'd erected since the rejection. After that hug, you can see she was finally open to him again, anticipating her birthday with him. The hour he gave her was nice. I was happy that he didn't just join the party, but set up a cake in privacy, in his car. But i was disappointed that he didn't seize the opportunity to talk to her about their relationship and confess. He explains why he doesn't, he doesn't believe she's ready, I believe he saw her breakdown differently than we did and wants to give her more time. But the red packets? Come on. I really wish he'd have gotten her a more meaningful gift. (Even something silly like a photo album, saying 'when the time comes we'll fill this up with photos of us',,,,just something with thought and heart. )

I hear you. But in his defense, she didn’t actually show her cards-he just saw them accidentally. Ultimately he ends up with the knowledge of what she’s been feeling , but “how” he found out is important too. He told his assistant that he wasn’t planning on confessing “yet” bc he thought she needed more time. We see her emotional breakdown as the endgame and are shouting “come get your girl” but he’s been dealing with her hot/cold moods and might interpret that breakdown differently. I was indeed upset about the birthday tho. I think it was a missed opportunity and he should’ve done more.

I agree that words are exactly what she needs. The way I understood ep 17, Tang Yu's sister was pushing him to make some kind of grand confession. Something over the top with like "will you be my girlfriend" with flowers and an audience and who knows what else. Think of the cheesiest, loudest drama confession scenes, and that's what I'm picutuing. But his sister is a kid, much younger than them. She also doesn't have all the info from Tang Xin's point of view. So I disagree with her. Tang Xin needs words, a full conversation that goes into the depths of Tang Yu's feelings. She's bared her heart to him; he needs to do the same.

I think she needs sincerity more than anything else. She's doubting if he's telling the truth, if it's only a wim, how deepy he truly likes her, when he started to like her, why he started to like her, and wonding why did he reject her in the past if he does indeed like her?
So I don't think she needs a "gesture" as such. I think they need to sit and down and talk. Truly clear the air. Based on her reaction to him confessing he'd read her secret weibo, she's finally realizes and has accepted that he's sincere toward her. His feelings are real. She might need one more final touch, for him to explain that initial rejection. So I don't want him to waste any more time trying to arrange something grand for a "confession". He just needs to sit down with her and tell her the full truth and she needs to accept it.
