preview of ep 10 and 11 make it look the ml has gotten over his resentment of the fl. do any novel readers know, based on the timeline, if it's because he just plain decided to move on or if it's bc he finally finds out that she didn't know him in the past and is not responsible for his accident?
Thank you!! How long does it take in novel for it to be claired up? Are we in for a sad angsty ride or do they get to it pretty early on in their relationship?
Any novel readers can spoil for me the history of the ml and fl before they met at work? What's up with the ml friend who said the fl had a crush after meeting him at a party? And when does the ml find out that she had no clue who he is before work and didn't ask to meet him, the accident had no relation to her , etc. etc.?
can you share the backstory of their history before meeting at work? That one friend who tried to set them up used her name without her knowing right? When does he figure out that she never actually had a crush on him and didn't spot him at the party at all?
Wow, your comment is honestly one of the most balanced and respectful takes I’ve read so far! 👏 I totally…
Thank you!! I'm glad you're enjoying it too.
Yes, the OG will always have a special place in my heart. It's on the top of my rewatch list. Beyond rewatching the entire series countless times, I also rewatch the airport scene by itself bc it touches my heart in a way that few other dramas can.
My take on the remake overall is that it's solid overall. For anyone who likes the story of HL itself, this is a quick, cute, enjoyable watch. <3
I thought original HL had lots of humor - especially between brother and sister.
In hindsight, you're right abour the humor between brother and sister. I guess it's the type of humor that's different. Their interactions in the original were sweet and some of them made me smile or laugh. But the comedy element of this particular moment in the remake is unique in terms of style and feeling.
I'm not a fan of the ML. Not sure if it's his fault or the director's fault. Either way. All I'm getting from him is "amused older brother." I need "slowly catching feelings despite himself" or "slow dawning realization" but I'm getting none of that. The monlogue at the end was completely out of place.
The original HL in the era of both adults pre-confession and pre-dating was sweet with deep emotional undertones. This version in the same era is cute, with only minute hints at deeper feelings so far.
"There's only one reason....he likes your brother."

😂😂😂😂😂 OMFG I love this!!!
If there's one thing the original HL lacked it was simple humor. This version gives off a lighter-hearted vibe. The writing so far is solid. I hope they continue with more moments like this.
Just finished episode 1. I'll say this as someone who watched the original HL and adored it.
Ep 1 was great. The actress who plays SZ is doing a great job. Maybe bc this version is a mini drama and everything is condenced, we get to the point a lot quicker than in the original. Ep 1 did a great job of introducing the characters and establishing a set up.
One additional note is that that ZLS in the original HL played SZ in the initial university episodes very strangely. Basically, SZ made the choice not to engage with JX in order to prevent herself falling for him again. Her "pulling back" tho came off as very wooden-faced acting from ZLS.
This version shows the character making the same choice, but the acting is portrayed with a twist. She lets her frustration with him show through and she gives him sassy responses, in keeping with a 18-19 yo somewhat young, somewhat naive girl who has the zest and spunk which we know SZ has.
I never thought I'd be writing this bc I'm a huge fan of ZLS and consider her to be one of the Queens of the Cdrama industry....but this portrayal, at least as of ep 1, makes much more sense to me in keeping with the character and makes for more enjoyable watching.
Please put this in spoilers. And can you ask your question again? Tell me what you saw on yt and i'll do my best…
They do! And they love each other. Even tho she hates him, she still loves him. And she's committed to dying with him. She intends to kill them both together. Go figure.
He's never wanted to kill her or truly harm her. He loves her and has never made a secret of it.
Based on the ending of the latest ep and the previews of the upcoming ones, they are now in a truce and determined to work together in order to uncover the mastermind who is truly plotting against them. And he is committed to winning her back and gaining her forgiveness. <3

I love Thai and Champ 🥺
Their dynamic is so refreshing.
