Everyone is entitled to their opinion and tastes but claiming the romance makes no sense and the characters need a doctor, after watching 20 minutes of a 120 minutes long project is ridiculous

I get you so much. The moment I see "toxic" in a sentence I stop perceiving 😌 Sure it's not for everyone but some takes are so..absurd?? they feel like some social justice satire or something only someone without any comprehension would say.
Let's not let things like that ruin our fun

Basically :
Not cute = bad, flawed characters = demons and abusers, explores different or unusual themes = problematic. This can pretty much sum it up.

I fully agree! It takes a skilled writer to create such a fun, 3 dimensional character. His inner battle with himself, insecurities, swallowing his pride to chase after Hira..and the image he has created for himself is absolutely a (hilarious) joy to watch.

I was expecting a 5+ year long timeskip and a heartbreaking, dramatic reunion with Hira continuing the chasing. But then Kiyoi POV happens and..despite what he is telling to himself he has been desperately waiting for the call even a month!! later, but the pride just won't let him ask the classmates about Hira 😂
instead of of like 5+ years, they reunite when they're 19. And when Kiyoi's going back and forth between "I really want to make this guy my boyfriend" to "WHAT DO I EVEN SEE IN HIM?? BUT I STILL WANT THIS WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME AND THIS GUY" when Hira's self-esteem and idolization of Kiyoi strikes again and basically blocks all of Kiyoi's attempts is incredible. It's been such a long time since we've had such a special japanese BL drama!

Yup and I also may be misremembering some parts haha. I just think it's hilarious how Kiyoi ended up being the one who partly made their reunion happen and how the things got reversed. Only a single day to go until the best part of the show!!

While Kiyoi's coworker being Koyama's brother is indeed a coincidence, he suggests the brother to invite both of them to the show, right? So he basically makes their "coincidental"meeting happen. So this detail makes it even better

Yeah, in the manga "Boys over flowers" Domyouji sends some guys to rape Makino too. And he remains one of the most popular male leads of all the time.
"You" is one of the most watched Netflix dramas. It's a drama about a literal psychopath stalker who kills women😂 The most popular GOT couples is incest.
I never see people fuming over either of these, and hey it's okay because it's fiction and exploring different themes in fiction is okay.

Basically ppl like that only demand gay characters in lgbt content to be pure non sexual saints, while.. lmao non straight people do exist in real life and they can have flaws and desires. And even if "problematic" topics are involved, it's not real and we want to have fun too

I can't tell if people's comprehension is that poor or it's just the new wave of BL fans.
The new BL fans seem to think fiction must be their moral purity compass 😂 and they're insisting on making fighting for fictional characters' right their only personality trait. And they loove doing it only to lgbt content so that says a lot by itself lol
Also, it gets funnier bc neither of the main characters here even need their ProTeCtion. They will figure everything out on their own

The moment the readers and listeners turned into Hiras 😂 Although the real Hira is missing out by not knowing what kind of mess Kiyoi is inside ahahhaha

This is the best part 2 description I've seen 😂 I don't know what kind of magic that was but he joined Hira as my favorite BL novel lead

It's just that noticed that most BL novels tend to get 1* from heterosexual harem fans upon being uploaded to NU. It was muuuch worse in the past but seeing translators getting demotivated because of that is just sad.

I agree about the translation, we aren't rushing them but just giving us a sign they're still planning to continue would be nice

1. The main character is not getting bullied because he is gay but because he is a lonely socially awkward teenager with an extremely low self-esteem who starts stuttering during his self introduction. And teenagers can be cruel.
2. The love interest who "humiliates him" is gay, and the humiliation includes calling the main character out for stalking him, calling him creepy which the said main characters knows is true. As the main character is not the most well socially adjusted person.
3. They will work everything out in the future, that includes their relationship becoming balanced and "healthier".
4. Sure it's not for everyone and those who prefer cute stories would rather stick to watching other shows and there's nothing wrong with that. But just because you perceive anything not extremely sweet and fluffy as something horrible, there's no need to lie about the story.

Haha it's so funny and sad how poor Koyama was 1 kiyoi-free date away from getting his crush. Even I was somewhat close to rooting for him (sorry Kiyoi ahahhaha)

Same, I wouldn't even mind if they went a bit further with Koyama and Hira since they almost happened hahaha. But it's just not like Kiyoi at all.

That's what I'm hoping for. I guess we will see next week. If they waste time on adding a plotline with Kiyoi hooking up with someone else for real, and there would be no indication we we'll be getting that conversation in episodes 4-5, we can officially be salty ☠️

I want to trust in the drama, so fingers crossed they're just rearranging some events and we'll get their conversation when they open up to each other. Perhaps when they'll start living together or during the scenes leading up to the confession?
