The funniest part is how they're so upset about fictional characters being possibly mistreated, they'd be racist…
They used to stop at trashing all asian BL content by calling it fetishizing, even if it were written by a gay man. But now there's more and more "smart" people who hate-watch or/ and read something just to come to the fan spaces..or send hate mail to the authors, to complain and highlight their superior western mmorals (codename for zero reading comprehension, bad taste and ignorance). They should just find the hobbies they like instead of this

Just because you don't like a fictional show that explores the themes you don't like, you'd put down all Japanese…
Don't forget the Bee movie that apparently promotes western people dating bees😂 🐝
Western content can involve everything but japanese shows must be ccp censorship style documentaries that would follow western style of life and have a voice over explaining what's happening in detail because these people can't into character analysis and comprehension

Man… I can’t generalize but whenever I see some western viewer’s take on this one I just automatically click…
The funniest part is how they're so upset about fictional characters being possibly mistreated, they'd be racist towards real people instead. Says a lot about their real values and how their outrage is just virtue signalling

They understand them so well they lived in their country "as a westerner" 😂
Their post almost made me speechless..what did we just read? The person is so worried about the drama not displaying the right western values and being offensive, they decided to be racist to prove their point?
And lmao the nerve to trash a work of fiction for being "toxic like all japanese people like" when the most famous western gay movie is "Call me by your name". The story about a 17 year old boy and a man in his 20s.

I wish I could like a gay Jdrama for once but I can't with the nature and the quality of shows like this one.…
Just because you don't like a fictional show that explores the themes you don't like, you'd put down all Japanese people? You sound extremely condensing and patronizing.
I reported your comment! But congratulations on leaving the worst wall of text I've ever witnessed on this site.
Btw oh mighty westerner do you think show "You" teaches young men to stalk and murder women and Game of thrones endorses incest? Since you seem to have difficulties telling the difference between real life and fiction, I'm not looking forward to your answer, westerner 😂

Atleast hira is not using him just because kyoma is nice to him like some people do because they like the attention…
I agree. It's such an annoying trope in romance. The character using a very sweet guy or girl and breaking up with them the moment their real crush shows up again.

Hira is a decent person so he avoids giving Koyama false hopes. He tries to quit the club he likes and distances himself from Koyama despite having him as his very first real friend, because he thinks it may make things less painful for Koyama.

A very short course on how to human.
Never date someone out of pity when you have no romantic feelings towards to them and when you're obsessed with someone else. That's extremely cruel. That person deserves better and you should know it. Thankfully Hira does too.

Yeah I mean common,I don’t know how creepy he gets in the novel but according to the series he isn’t as much…
I understand where you are coming from. Of course Kiyoi isn't without a fault.
It's just that people like to pretend one of them is a monster and the other one is a helpless victim.
When both are imperfect lonely humans who consent to the actions of each other.
I need to add that the author doesn't let them off easily, their actions will bite them in the ass. Kiyoi's being harsh and outright mean will only make his pursuit of Hira nearly impossible, because it contributes to Hira's belief he is not worthy of his love and that Kiyoi will never love him.
For Hira, it's his idolization and obsession that get in the way of seeing Kiyoi for who he is and cockblocks him from getting in relationship with the man that loves Hira as much as Hira loves him. It also hurts them both. Both will have to work hard to make it work☺️

Yes but we are talking about Kiyoi and Hira and what it means in the context related to them. You've said you consider his going to see a play a stalker move, when in fact it's not considering the circumstances. I just can't see it in any other light.
I'm real life, purposefully seeing a play with your crush who doesn't want to have anything to do with you and secretly following them after the play or something is a completely different situation, because it's indeed creepy and that not how it happened in the drama either.

Yes, are talking about Kiyoi who knew the guy followed him once without his permission and he still invites him, which was obviously not done out of being polite. So I don't see it as stalking. He was watching his play, not watching him sleep

People like this suffer because they dont know how to express themselves and people start calling them creepy…
I find Hira very cute 😂 He is very human and he tries his best to go through life despite his self-esteem and communication issues.
I think one of the many messages of utsukushii kare is to find a way to love and accept yourself because if you don't, you may not realize they are a lot of people who care and love you even if you don't think you're worthy of being accepted and loved. Hira is loved by his parents, Kiyoi, Koyama and he will keep meeting people who'll appreciate him.

That would imply that watching public plays, even if the actor expressed his desire to see you, requires numerous separate consent requests. Which honestly sounds insane to me. But let's stop here 😌

I agree that he earned the nickname. But I don't consider watching the play being a stalker.
Watching a play normally after being previously invited PERSONALLY to an after-party at one of Kiyoi's previous plays only confirms that he doesn't mind Hira watching him act

Kiyoi was very mean at some points and he won't get away with it. He will regret it in the future because it will only contribute to Hira's not realizing he loves him, because calling your crush creepy even in a non serious way will leave a mark, and of course he was a part of the group of bullies. But he also saved Hira, he was the one who never used the offensive nickname, he didn't allow the rest of the class to touch him, he also never let the bullying escalate. Let's not forget that both of them are teenagers, and having seen how the bullies never considered Kiyoi one of their own, what would've happened if he completely went against them? Is it that easy to fight off the bullies and become a victim yourself? Kiyoi is not as confident and detached as he looks.
And as I said Hira refers to him as his savior, (according to him) he could've become one of those victims on the news who committed suicide, but he managed to get through the school and stand up to his bully.. even if it was partly for Kiyoi's sake. So everything is not black and white here, both of them are very flawed and lonely and putting a stalker x bully label on them would mean disregarding everything that's happening and their characters.

I think he deserves that nickname. For the previous instance and his obsession in general. But following another person outside does not make one a stalker especially if the person in question knows about it and doesn't mind, and Kiyoi doesn't mind. As you will see in Kiyoi's POV episode, he was even enjoying Hira's obsession in a way. Until he decided he wanted an actual relationship with him, and it doesn't really work if one of them is idolizing the other instead of seeing him for who he is.

And I absolutely disagree about the play.
Kiyoi previously invited Hira so even if Hira wanted to secretly watch his play as a legit member of the audience it's not stalking.
On My Beautiful Man Dec 10, 2021
My essay moment 😂
Why some people are making a monster out of Hira as if he is a Killing stalking lead? After years of being ignored and finally being bullied the dude is not well socially adjusted, flawed, doesn't think of himself as being worthy of love and sometimes can be creepy, he also over idolizes Kiyoi. But except for that one time where he beats up his bully and follows Kiyoi to the dance studio, which Kiyoi knows, he never hurts anyone, and he is respectful of Kiyoi and Koyama. As soon as he thinks the former wants to have nothing to do with him he disappears from his life and never makes an effort to approach him again. Kiyoi would've told him off ages ago if he were truly disgusted by him, but instead he allows Hira more and more and opens up to him. Any further steps to become romantic partners with Hira, are made only by Kiyoi.

Hira rejects Koyama a couple of times, tries to distance himself from him in case Koyama is hurt by being close to someone who rejected him. He never leads him on. That's why they remain friends.

It's not that he deserves someone better than Hira. Hira turned him down numerous times and even tried to distance himself from Koyama by quitting the club in order not to hurt Koyama, but Koyama stopped him.
Koyama deserves someone who will reciprocate feelings and always put him as his #1

Oh, our holy 4, I think we are missing only "fetishizing", I'm waiting for someone to fix this.
I'm not even sure the ones who keep parroting this twitter anime rights warrior starter pack understands what these words even mean .
A gay man overcoming difficulties and finding happiness with another gay man in a gay story is a problematic toxic manipulative fetishizing homophobia I'd say 😂
