You might not be one of those who will like PwL. It’s either you love this series or hate it. I liked it a lot.…
Haha it was the writing I think, I did watch Triage but I also had a hot take on that one :$
Don't get me wrong I think it is a decent show, but I expected them to outsmart me and challenge me. (Mostly because it was so different from the fluffy bl's so I was really excited the first few eps) But I ended up coming up with solutions 5 eps before they even thought about it and didn't like the switch in the last quarter of the show :/ I did like the cast a lot though

Wait did I miss something? I just binged the episodes today, but I don't recall Pleng ever making it clear he…
I get that, but that's not making clear that he isn't ready/ open to having a relationship or excuses his behavior after they slept together though.. I was just wondering if I missed him clearly saying so after seeing your comment about him being upfront and being ehh heated about Duean xD
Especially since he wasn't upset at him not being ready, but rather about being treated like shit afterwards
On Coffee Melody Aug 16, 2022
I don't know about this show guys.. I'm pretty easily entertained but I just don't feel invested in anyone after binging the first 5 eps.. Like maybe Jean, but that's about it

I really don't like that Duean Yi and Pleng Rak reconciled already. Duean went in hard, fast, and heavy and Pleng…
Wait did I miss something? I just binged the episodes today, but I don't recall Pleng ever making it clear he wasn't interested in a relationship. I remember Duean asking if he could flirt with him to which he responded that it wouldn't be easy and Duean said he was up for the challenge. His friends did tell Duean that Pleng had a bad relationship trauma, but I don't remember anything other than that.. (I did start daydreaming half way through so idk)
Especially since Pleng's friends repeatedly told him to let Duean go if he wasn't serious about him. Not to mention that he fully ghosted him after sleeping together. Duean didn't ask him for anything after the boyfriend talk at all. But after being avoided shit just got rightfully heated ? Like not being ready is one thing, but fully ghosting and avoiding is another

Okay it was cute, but honestly dude who literally just took your order and brought you your coffee?? Why was this the equivalent of rocket science for him.. I would immediately assume it was the guy bringing me my drink tbh even if I didn't swing that way

You guys act like it's the worst series you ever watched in your life and I know we all have different opinions.…
agreed, I left the comment section midway around ep 7 I think because a lot of comments were about people hating the show and simultaneously saying they had stopped watching it 2 eps in
- . - At first I had a lot of fun laughing at the mediocrity of the show too but now I just watch it because it's still something enjoyable enough to pass my time with
Rather have bad taste and enjoy myself than be a sour puss and having a bad time xD

comments make me wanna watch it just to see how bad it is
tbh I think it's mostly an issue with a lot of filler and not proper editing that made the show what it is now. If those 2 things were fixed it would be a decent watch.. Which is probably why people are so disappointed

Okay 2 things.
1. If anyone will leave their food and drink untouched again and proceeds to leave the restaurant before even paying I will scream...
2. I actually really really loved one thing they did that I've never seen in any other bl's. Ya'll they showed a realistic first date. One that is awkward and a little weird, where you are still kinda strangers at the end but still might go for a first kiss. How have I never seen that in any other shows before now?? It felt actually real

Like honestly, this show may not be the greatest show out there... or may not even be good at best most of the time. But they did make a lot that happens a lot closer to real life than most other bl's. Like the break up scene between Nine and his gf. Or Tee's first date.
On Senpai, This Can’t Be Love! Aug 12, 2022
Okay I have noticed 1 specific thing with Japanese bl's. There usually is 1 peck in the entire show and it always comes when the leads aren't together yet. Which makes the ending quite dissatisfying because the 1 kiss quota had already been reached so early on that the rest of the show they will have little to no physical contact..
plus the conflict is literally always lack of communication that is solved within the last 10 minutes or so and never a genuine problem.
I still like how manga-vibey the shows are, but Japanese bl's are definitely not my favorite because of that
I won't lie... The ending felt really unsatisfying to me. And whilst the first season made me laugh a lot, this one didn't. I just got annoyed at how our main didn't really grow after S1...
Nor do his feelings feel genuine since there was never any build up in 1 and even less so in 2. :/ It was easy to overlook the first time around but not the second time

Title His Man
4 episodes in and I like it so far. Although I'm a bit surprised how reserved the show is. No real cuddling so…
I grew up watching both western and east asian tv so for me it's kinda normal. (although western tv is a little much for me tbh)
But I like seeing how people experience things differently.
PDA is definitely a little looked down upon in Korea although the dating culture is a really big deal. Even on hetero dating shows you won't see much skinship or at most they might hold hands. It is changing a little bit, like on merry queer, since they were already established couples talking about their experience they will kiss on camera, but not more than a peck usually. It is definitely different since they are so conscious about their image and being loud or even too sexual for the public might damage your future opportunities in life.

Title His Man
i see what the problem is with this show is , the premise is great but most (successful) reality shows are more…
I just quickly want to mention the part of 'scrambling the nearest 8 gay men together' tbh it probably was already difficult to have 8 korean men openly show their sexual orientation especially with how the public has responded to showing more queer relationships in the media there.. So I wouldn't like to speculate that they had lots of other options and went with the first few in line.. Some of the contestants aren't even openly out yet either
I also relate to the comment above mine, even when someone isn't your usual type, it's hard to deny the attraction when they fit whatever is seen as the ideal type in your experience.
I think it's obvious that people usually are a little enamored by the idea of dating someone that is close to a societal ideal. I've seen enough people neglect real connections for the promise of being with the popular guy or girl, it does somewhat come with our instinct as human beings.
That's why they say that people in relationships are perceived as more attractive. We often don't go for what we want, we want what other people tell us is most desirable to want.

Why does it say that there are only 10 episodes but before it was 11 and some ppl say that ep 6&7 both came out…
Last week someone said that on their official twitter they announced it would be 2 eps per week. I think it keeps changing from 1 to 2 because of the public response in korea, but I'm not sure

Okay my brain feels like it is split into two rn. I fully understand the experience of the viewers, BUT I also understand the writers (or at least I think I do as a writer myself)
This is your spoiler warning because I'm gonna go over every point that left some question in some people's mind from what I saw in the comments!

First let's start with my theory on why our leads even like each other. Their relationship instantly gave me summerfling vibes. You know, when you don't necessarily have deep feelings for someone, but you have this instant physical attraction that makes you attached to them since it never needed to be anything more than that. It definitely felt like their attraction was more so build upon admiration and inspiration that later turned into love. Ki Jin was shown to be a rather apathetic and nonchalant guy in the beginning, but Yeong Woo became the one that inspired him. (pretty similar to a character I'm writing right now.) Artists know exactly what I'm talking about, when you are always feeling kinda numb and lost, but this one thing makes you really fired up and ignites your dream all over again. It genuinely is the same feeling as falling in love which is why so many artists fall 'in love' with their muse. For Yeong Woo however he has needed someone to inspire him and help him find something to dream off. Ki Jin became his dream. When you feel lost, having something to reach for becomes like a life line. This became more apparent when his father said that his own dream used to be Yeong Woo's mother. Dropping the hint that they are similar in that way. That specific theory ties in really nicely with the end as to why the 2 of them had to be apart for a year. Ki Jin obviously never went to New York with his friend, not because of Yeong Woo, but because that was never the way he wanted to reach his dream. When he cries at the streetlight the scene before you see the crumbled up plane ticket, I think he is mourning the fact that he has to give up his dream not knowing if he will ever get the opportunity again. At first he probably wavered, but he couldn't live his life on hand outs by his friend, this being the second time Yi Bin seemingly got him the chance of a life time. Now the reason the two needed to be apart from a writers point of view is because they needed that distance to separate the person from the dream. Ultimately Yeong Woo needed his own reason to want to become a model and Ki Jin needed his time to work his way up through his own hard work. Neither could be depended on each other to reach their dreams, especially when Ki Jin probably felt like he had to start from the ground up again with finding his path towards his goals. He also needed to become inspired by himself and not by someone else.
From a viewers experience, the execution definitely made it a little hard to see the motivation behind what happened. But I hope that for anyone who was confused this theory might clear up some holes.

Tim and Mai's scene was awful. It's a shame because they have really good chemistry and everything was resolved…
Yeah it was definitely too quick.. I'm also not the biggest fan of 1. someone needing to be drunk in the situation and 2. people always needing to be on the verge of losing someone before they'll get their act together and give in to their feelings. So that doesn't help either..

Idk after binging all the episodes that are out in one weekend I feel like in theory this should've worked but so many things just fall flat for me...
I guess that's the difference between following the script to a T and having some method acting to make it flow better. (At least that's how it feels to me)
Also don't get me going on how this show even started. The whole thing with the chancellor made me really f'ing angry lol xD I got so heated for no reason but at least it stopped somewhere halfway through.
Maybe it's just me but there seems to be so little reason as to why these people even like each other. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike any of the couples I just wish bl drama relationships went deeper than I think you're cute or I don't want anyone else to have you so let's date. The only thing I will say is that I usually don't care for already established relationships (I'm a sucker for the angst in the journey towards getting together more) BUT I love Park and Lee's relationship. It feels somehow a little out of place in this show because even without knowing their past, they seem like a genuine couple. It feels real and better written than the other ones. With Tim and Mai I wish there was a better pay off.. The scene just didn't work for me.
OH and obviously no one actually communicates in this show, all conflicts exist out of misunderstandings...

At least this show introduced me to some good songs, though I will forever wonder how the hell they went from the window seats to the railing. Like before you know it the next frame will be of them doing it whilst paragliding off the mountain top with Candy and Boat still blissfully ignorant playing in the water xD
