Okay so what are the general consensus at the moment,
Hate it or love it?
I LOVED the first story, never finished the second and am patiently waiting to binge the 3rd.

I've actually seen lots of bl's above 8. As well as About youth a Taiwanese bl that finished in September. There are some periods where a lot of shows come out that don't reach that number, but honestly it's hard to say why that is. People are some times more critical than other times. We all have a soft spot for something. I still need to watch this one for example, but I got so confused in the first ep that I might have rewatch this at a time when I have a better attention span cause I didn't enjoy it at all for that reason

I wouldn't call this pretentious as some say, although I do feel a little confused after watching the entire thing. (I knew all the spoilers prior so I knew exactly what was going on, but it still left me wondering 'why it existed' but not in a rude way just out of curiosity) I think they had a really good concept going, but the story writing needed to be revised a couple more times. I think why people might have called it pretentious might have gone wrong there. Without wanting to sound rude... it comes across as a story that wasn't ready to be told by the people that told it. I felt like it would have had more depth with added scenes to build character backgrounds. Why Mon and Mork did what they did and how it came to that point. What was their relationship like in general. I felt like they should have shown the scene where Mork tells Tiew the truth and shown the initial reaction. The confusion, between what was real and what wasn't. How he came to understand whom his feelings belonged to. If those scenes would have been added to what we got now, this show would have been solid for me.
Now this is why I said : I don't know why this show exists. Not because it wasn't a show that should have been left in the archives, but because I want to see and feel the motivation behind all the characters and their part in this story. Why does it exist? Who are they? And why did we end up like this?
(Especially since we just kinda brushed past the fact that Mon tells us its been 3 years since Mork left and felt the need to clarified his status between him and Tiew? Why, what happened exactly after that fated night on the bridge all those years ago. What could have separated these two when all we know is that they always seemed to have lived as one)

tbh I liked the show better knowing it, it makes it make more sense from the get go so you don't get caught up in confusion

(I knew the spoilers, which to be honest made it easier to watch otherwise I would have dropped it with all the weird confusion)
2 things: I see what they tried to do, but they way they did it made Mon severely inconsequential and unnecessary.
and lastly, I need to visit that cafe. That whole forest with waterfall on the indoor terrace vibe was so serene and beautiful, my god!
Edit: oh yeah I forgot, I don't buy into their love. Coming from some who falls in love at first sight. I just didn't feel it, not to the extent that we are made to believe... (you know with the whole end conclusion, I mean you really got to love him for all that to unfold the way it did)

I do know that, but phayu had a line in one of the episodes where he specifically pointed out that Kim refused surgery without his brother's consent when he was talking about his condition getting worse. So according to the scripts logic, the fact that they had to hide didn't really matter 🤔 (which admittedly is still odd logic, but also the reason why I'm annoyed at realizing this afterwards, I just assumed the same thing, they're hiding so he can't get help. But that wasn't the case)

it is a little weird if they romanticized the past and made him look as a grown guy for this little boy he once met. But they were both kids and he did like Sun independently before knowing he was his child friend so in this case I'll allow it. I think cutie pie makes it a lot weirder than this show where he literally knew him from when he was an actual baby I believe xD

Unfortunately, I think the childhood friends finding each other back later in life is about how much Asian culture loves the idea of fate and how fate bounds us to 1 specific person that we will always end up crossing paths with no matter how impossible it seems. You do see it date back pretty far in their storytellings I think. Where you meet as children, go your separate ways and grow into the person you were meant to be only to find each back later in life and become lovers as fate would have it.

Fuck okay spoiler so don't read this if you didn't watch this yet but, I mean I was calling Payoo an ass wipe in ep 11 (for various reasons), but how did I not realize he and Rain literally let Kim refuse medical help because he only wanted the consent of Rain before going through with the surgery... Whilst Rain is just hanging out with the horsies playing dead.. I was too distracted by the bullshit reasoning that I completely missed the point that he jeopardized his brothers physical health because he was afraid of Kim throwing a hissy fit. Like shit Rain! Your brother literally lost his memories because he couldn't go to a hospital without you and all you say is 'you still didn't recover?' no he didn't! Wtf Rain.. omg

So many questions and so little answerssss
Why did Sun have a heart condition and why does it matter? Like it's literally a tag on here
Also how did this finish without addressing the very first scene of this show? or did I miss something?
I can rant about a lot, but I'm feeling lazy so I'll keep it at that in hopes someone knows more than I do lol

I'm sorry but is this show high? xD I am so confused how we got here and it's only been 3 episodes... there is so much to unpack and at the same time I'm not even sure what to unpack here.
I... am genuinely confused. My body feels confused watching this, my brain feels confused watching this... am I tripping? What just happened. I honest to god can't even tell you what this show is about.. I kid you not, try explaining episode 3 and not go 'wait whut?... wait... heh?' to me I dare you. Like this is a hot pot of we 'serve everything here, but none of what you were asking for'. We have family drama, ghosts, a weird almost black mail sexual favors moment.. a consensual almost bdsm moment and a surprise engagement?

High school was wild to be fair, but damn every time I see girls herd around the guys in these shows and scream like fangirls or when they have siblings ship and fantasize about their brothers with random guys... or make facebook pages for their classmates imaginary relationships... I get concerned. (and this is at a uni on top of that)

Like imagine having a brother and getting all drooled up over the idea of him kissing a guy... god I could never with my brother... His relationships are none of my business as long as he is happy. That just creeps me the f out...

tbh a few weeks in and I don't feel shit between the main characters, but you know what, it's something to watch on Sundays. And that's all I need from this show

In reality this show stopped airing a few weeks ago and we are all having ptsd like fever dreams about this show never ending

The biggest plottwist still remains how many episodes this show will truly end up being
